    Corporal Klinger

Jamie Farr, playing Corporal Klinger in the 1970's show M*A*S*H, represented the first I ever saw someone who was anything that looked like us. He even acted female, despite his obvious maleness. But he was trying to convince his superiors that he was crazy. Crazy enough to be discharged.

While I *am* crazy enough to be discharged, I'm not trying to emulate Corporal Klinger, yet that is how I think others see me.

Pride Day here was a few weeks ago. Here is how I dressed for it:

    Pride.jpg

I had the parade manager compliment me *twice* on my outfit. "Thank you for dressing like this"

Ok, my brain-that-finds-where-things-break says... Dressing like 'what'?

If even this big, jolly gay man who gives a damn doesn't see me as anything but big fag wearing a costume, then what the heck do I have to do to be recognised? Heck even my big gay bear buddy at work gave me crap over wearing pink, white and blue because they didn't go together.. having no idea that those were the trans flag colors. (*^$ What the heck do I have to do?

    "Finally"? I didn't realize I had die-hard fans }:>

I have been slacking on posting as of late. I'm focused on work, a production of Hunchback oND I'm singing in, and the asylee group I work with, plus jewelry and table gaming, then add the wife and kid, and I'm booked.

'Ride with'? You mean like cycling? Sistah from anothah.. um.. blistah? (Pardon my Yankee accent)

Finally MM we have a face to the name !!

So you left the antlers off , I really was beginning to think your avatar was the true you !!

It's good to see you enjoying being out and about and finally sharing it with us with a picture !

I enjoyed attending a Pride Day, but we were asked to help out with the TG students , it was held at Boston ( UK ) college so e went dressed to chat to anyone with TG issues . That was the first time for me being dressed all day in a very public place , I would definitely attend again if we could help anyone . I was in the leather skirt in my avatar with a short sleeved top and beige heels , it did feel good.

Moose! Better to be Corporal Klinger than Major Disaster. You look snazzy, but more than that -- you look happy. As for satisfying others on your choice of outfit (A) it's never going to happen and (B) if we were into following convention, I'm thinking we wouldn't be here.

Teresa -- that's a pretty cool thing to do. I think for a lot of us that had a sense of duty & responsibility in our male lives, it helps a lot in the getting-out process if we find a way to make our journey into something beneficial to others. I think it adds a sense of purpose that helps us overcome our fears.
I am not a woman; I don't want to be a woman; I don't want to be mistaken for a woman.
I am not a man; I don't want to be a man; I don't want to be mistaken for a man.
I am a transgender person. And I'm still figuring out what that means.

Well-well, finally a picture of a moose in a skirt and message T-shirt, I've seen it all now. Can't see the shoes though. Just what did the parade manager think you would wear?

It may of course be a bit disturbing to sense that one is really not so firmly anchored to the gender one was born into.

    This was always my favorite.

Douglas MacArthur was going to visit the camp, so they spent days preparing, and all he does is drive-through. As he's leaving the camp, there's Klinger as the Statue of Liberty, and General MacArthur salutes him as they drive by.
