    I was worried over nothing.

I have been seeing my brow lady for almost a year now, and I was always worried about how she would handle ericka. She still hasn't seen Ericka.

I remember when I started seeing her. I told her to go as feminine as possible with my brows. As she was doing it. She mentioned my fair colored brows weren't helping her. Being sarcastic by nature. I said imagine trying to fill them in. I wasn't even thinking when I said it. It just popped out. She laughed, and carried on.

Fast forward to today. Its been two months since I have seen her. Due to a stay at home. So I got in for a trim, and a brow wax yesterday.

As she was doing my brows. She said some thing about how they look. Forgetting who I was talking to. I told her I was doing my makeup the other night, and my brows where annoying me. With out missing a beat. She asked what I used. That led to a full blown makeup conversation. While she was doing my hair.

I think since day one. She knew I was a crossdresser or trans. Depending on your views on both spectrums. She just didn't want to ask, or make assumptions. As it is now 2020, but after our little chat today. There is no doubt im officially out to her, and she dosn't care. My life with her just got a lot easier.

I use to have my eyebrows done by a nice Asian l lady and one day out of blue she asked if i did my own makeup. When I asked her why she asked she said cause you didn't get all the mascara off, you maybe using too much. I had to laugh

Cool technique of introducing Ericka. You just drop hints here and there with nothing definite and let them draw their own conclusions that you can either affirm or deny. I like it. Has worked well for me. Of course, she does not want to lose a customer by saying something offensive, so you do have to factor that into her apparent acceptance. It is possible if you got more personal with her she would reject you outright, but I suspect that is less likely today. Just a boundary would be established if she is really not as tolerant and accepting as she seems. But even that might be comfortable for you. On the other hand she may be curious to see you dressed and might ask you if you would come in next time as a Her.

It never ceases that people are surprised that hair dressers and other beauty specialists see nothing wrong with a GM getting services that were traditionally "GG's only".

Unless you live out near the Styx, you are probably not the first GM, TG, or CD, they have served.

Well, that is out of the way. People working in esthetics are likely quite familiar with people like us. Its a nice boundary to bring down. Now you both feel free to focus on trying new things and finding the best look for you.

Hi Erika!! Awesome story. I have been hesitant to start doing my brows. Maybe I should gradually start doing them and slowly move more feminine...I don't think I can go full fem like you did.

Erika, I get my eyebrows threaded, though I have seen other men in the salon, I always just assumed she thinks I am a CD.

I have had my eyebrows waxed many times and threaded too and even had it done at the same time as a woman I was seeing a few years ago. Those that have asked about it (there hasn't been many), I just say that I think it looks better and it's just a personal preference

You have reinforced something that i have observed for a long time. That women in that type of beauty industry not only accept trans or CD customers, they ENJOY helping us find our true expressions. Aside from the fact that it makes good business sense to widen your market base, these wise ladies know they are helping us find our way out of the bland unhealthy loneliness of toxic masculinity. Also, we make very good customers, less finicky and more grateful for their help than many gg customers.

I'm not making this all up. This has been my actual experience for over ten years.

I’ve used the same beautician for years. The gal that I had been using quit. The day before and I was a walk in. I was wearing a top with a foam cup bra to get a haircut she had me go over to a chair and lean back so she could wash my hair. As I laid back l realized that the girls qualified for twin peaks. She didn’t say a thing. She did have to stop for a few minutes to talk to a vendor. Another customer walked by and observed the girls.

A while back I had on a knit white top and went to get a haircut from her. As she took off the cape some hair fell on my chest. She immediately reached down and started brushing off my top with her hand which obviously meant that she could feel my breasts and the lace of my bra. She never said a word other than sorry.

One time I went to an upscale salon when I was out of town. They had a woman that shampooed the customer’s hair and gave a massage. I had on a button down blouse. Every thing was going great she washed my hair gave me a head massage as she worked down to my neck she slid her hands under my blouse to work on my neck and shoulders her hands slid over the top of my bra to the cups. I was startled at first, but relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the massage. I tipped her well. Wanted to go back, but never made it.

I was in a salon getting my nails done for the first time. I was getting a makeover and trying on dresses the next day. It was my coming out.

It was the week before Halloween and I thought about saying it was for Halloween. But I went with the truth and she loved it. I got dressed up and went back that night. She picked out a great color for me.

Six months later, same salon, different tech (I wanted the one from 6 months before, but she wasn't working). I tell her I want girly nails (again, I'm dressed as a guy), and I'm headed for Chicago on the train dressed. We hit it off immediately, we've been out multiple times together, and she just introduced me to her two daughters.

So I took a risk, told the truth, and got a big reward.

Before everything shut down I got my back, legs and eyebrows waxed. When I first started waxing I would wear boy-shorts under my pants. After a couple of years I now show up in panties, under leggings, like all the other women (have not shown up in a thong which is what I typically wear under leggings). She already knows I self-wax the remaining areas so there is not much left to hide.

With respect to eyebrows, mine have, over time, become more and more feminine, and no one has ever said a thing. Even my wife hasn't noticed.

Gretchen, When we where talking as she was doing my hair. She made a few comments about what could be done down the road. They were more or less female oriented. She also said my hair was beautiful, and pretty. I can bet she dosn't tell that to male clients. To top it off. She sprayed some oil in my hair to control frizz I believe after she cut it. It smelled like fruit. She probably dosn't spray that in male hair. Unless they request it.

As for comfort with her. I think you are right. She is about 40. I can't imagine she has the old school im a freak thing. Going through her head. The first time she did them. I was super nervous. As I have never seen her. She also had a client, and a employee within ear shot. When she asked what I wanted. I kinda was mumbling it, and I think she picked up on my nerves. She then says like mine. I look at her, and shake my head yes, and she went to work.

Being truthful here. I think she dose care a lot about her clients. She never seems unhappy to see me. I have seen her show less excitement. With a few woman. Who are paying way more then what i usually do, but I also think that depends on the client's history with her.

As for her meeting ericka. I have a hair treatment with her this weekend. Another thing that is typically female. I do plan on going in as ericka.

Sara1989. I didn't start full on female. I went to another place before her. Just to test the waters. I went about middle of the road with looks then. I went fully female with her. Just because I wanted to. Granted I have light brows, and can pull it off in male mode as needed.

You ladies are right about the beauty industry. I saw a lady last summer. She was again about my age 35. She did my hair, in a female style. With out even blinking. She did say she wanted to see ericka one day. The problem is she has been super busy since. My leg wax lady. Was also cool about it. She will get to meet ericka in a couple of weeks.

People that work in the hair and nail salons are generally going to be accepting of us, yes I know it is business, but my nail girl Traci knows more about this side of me then anyone except my wife.

Sorry about the bumb. I saw my waxing/slash hair stylist again yesterday. To get a keratin treatment done to control my fizz, and curls for the summer.

I did go in as my female self. Not a single question was asked on her side. She loved that I came in as my other side, and gave me some makeup advice. Since she also dose makeup. She wants me to come in some day, and learn a little bit more from her. Which is ok. I do struggle with some parts.

I also told her I wanted to do some thing about the color of my hair. She looked at me like she wanted to kill me. Not in a bad way. To quote her "you have natural Auburn colored hair. Not too red, not too brown. The perfect color. That many woman would kill for, and they can't even buy. You have a great color. Don't please change it. It looks good on you."

Marion, I think I look good when my makeup is done well enough. I have learned one thing about makeup. If my eyebrows, shadow, and liner are done well. It draws attention away from my other bad points.

I have hazel eyes. My wife loves my eyes. She says other then my arms. They are her favorite part of me. You should have seen her reaction the first time she seen me made up. She didn't even comment me on my makeup. It was holy $&#%. You have beautiful eyes. To get her to swear. Is a rare thing.

She is not the only female that has made that comment. Even I notice it when I'm made up. I look in a mirror, and I see eyes I could get lost in.

You will find this to be the reaction almost anywhere and everywhere you frequent (especially when you request "feminine" brows). Also, when you are paying someone, they generally will be accepting (waitresses, store clerks, etc.). In male or female mode, I am completely open and up front about why I am buying whatever it is. I cannot tell you the number of times I have shopped for and/or purchased lingerie with a few days growth. There always has been and always will be a-holes in life, but most people are truly special and accepting. Now get out there and do it again!

I do plan on listening to her. Even though I do hate my factory color. Maybe in a few months. I will talk to her about highlights. Just to add some thing to it.

Kendi. I don't know about that. The lady that did my leg wax. Before every thing shut down. Asked why I wanted to do it. So I told her, and while she had no other questions. She did say her friend is trans. She seemed like she understood, but she was kinda off putting. Towards me. When I showed up. A few other things happened. Nothing because of my trans status, but other things.

I'm giving her one more shot this weekend. If she's still that way. I will not be going back to her.
