We are more relax as girls. and it take the stress away. It is something different and that alone helps.

Because you get to enjoy the soft feminine things that previously only the women in your life were able to enjoy.
Because it is your own personal way of dealing with strees.
Because who wouldn't feel relaxed in some sexy lingerie and heels?
For me...it’s comfort. Slipping on hose at the beginning or ending of each day removes stress and tension. 🍷, too. The way the world is going, more should wear nylons.
Maybe because you enjoy it.
Maybe just a way to escape the stress that builds up in our male lives. Remember, when a lot of us were growing up the males provided and fixed virtually everything at work and at home. Possibly those of us who grew up in those times see a female personae as somone who things are done for and fixed for. We're looking for an out fom what is expected of us as men, and the stress that creates. I know I'm probably going to catch a lot of grief over these comments!!!

A good question Dana. It is something we find enjoyable, so that is part of the reason but I think it goes deeper. I believe that for me being able to dress is a way of throwing off the everyday cares and stresses and at least temporarily, entering a separate world where the main focus is on looking as feminine as possible and enjoying the physical and emotional pleasures of being yourself.
Various hobbies and sports can bring pleasure and happiness but for me nothing approaches the deep contentment of being able to dress as I want and just be Consuelo.
I think part of it is denying who I am, less conflict more relaxing when I am cross dressing. I also have a very stressful job that requires me to be an almost alpha personalty. Cross dressing allows me to relax at least with myself. Not to mention that cross dressing allows me to be demure, I can concentrate on things that I can control, and it excites me in a way that pulls me away from some of my other stresses in life. For one thing I like to compare it to reading a good book - it's another form of escapism. It's also being true to myself and when I get a chance to just be myself, well that is another form of stress relief.
I don't get this whole relaxing excuse. I would guess it has to do with being distracted, not thinking about whatever is causing the stress.

It relieve stress because after a long stressful day, anger strikes and I know that if I CD it trigger the feminine side of me and I'm more tolerant and sociable.

For me, it allows me to be someone else for a while, someone who is pretty and feminine, the opposite of my everyday male existence.

Crossdressing (putting on women's clothes) satisfies a mental addiction or craving in the brain that brings pleasure, calm and happiness. As I have asked in a recent post why do we have it, what got it started, it's there for life and other males don't have it; WHY????
