First time out shopping by myself while dressed

Another small milestone to report. I have been shopping a few times with my wife while dressed, but never alone...until a couple days ago. I decided to venture out on my own! I kept it casual: jeans, a top and ballet flats. Decided to go to Target around 9pm on a Wednesday evening. It was especially dead inside the store. Part of it was probably the time of day, but also the fact that the Cubs were playing that night. It was only myself and a handful of other women in the store. This was the perfect scenario for me, as I enjoy shopping the most without tons of other people around (whether I'm in guy or girl mode).

I am pretty confident in my look, but I am most self conscious about my voice. I was comforted by the fact that they had self checkout lanes, which would mean minimal interaction with other people. I picked out several things from the women's section and tried them on. I ended up just deciding on buying a dress and a couple bras. But by the time I decided on my purchases, the self checkout lanes were closed, and there was only one checkout lane left with a male cashier.

I sure as hell wasn't leaving without that dress (great price, and super cute!). So I decided to just suck it up and go for it. I didn't talk much beyond "hi" and "thank you". But he was real sweet. He may have figured out I was a CDer, but he didn't care and treated me like any other customer. I left the store feeling really good about myself. Great experience overall.

Congrats on the solo trip and the new purchases. You looked great in your casual, blendy outfit, and doubt anyone gave you a second thought. Considering the Cubs were playing, you picked the perfect time to venture out, though I think you'd be fine any other time, day or night. Kim

    Danielle,

What a great story, and I love the photo you provided to illustrate it.
Your overall look is FANTASTIC; very passable. I would never worry about going out anywhere in your femme persona.
AND... I am so 'jealous' that you have a wife so understanding and supportive she's willing to go out shopping with you as Danielle.
Very cute, dear. You are very cute (selfie).

You look great and your outfit was spot on for shopping. I suspect that you experienced what I do when out shopping. Most don't look at you and those that do don't see anything to doubt or don't care. Congratulations!

    You look very gorgeous Danielle!
Of all I have done out dressed, I've never gone shopping.
I mean, I've been to department stores "looking around", but never intending to purchase anything.

I am glad things went well for you! Your posted outfit looks great, it's fashionable and still feminine IMHO. Part of me wishes I could do that now but, I'm not at that place in my life. Good luck in the future!

    Awesome! Congratulations!

You look great! I shop at a Dressbarn wearing male clothing and am very welcome there. I went one time dressed enfemme, (my only time shopping dressed as a female) hoping to get a warmer welcome but it was business as usual. I was hoping for greater support from the sales personnel as i know I couldn't pass. I guess I should be content with that.
