It is the sound of high heels on a hard surface, looking down and seeing nylons with a short dress or skirt, lipstick on the glass. Makes me smile when its me. What makes you smile?

Brenda,
I do like the sound that my high heels make on the tile as I walk around.
"She". When someone I am with naturally refers to me as she. Complete affirmation.

Long hair, and nail polish. My hands are often right in front of me, so indicators of 'female' are always helpful. I will also wear a watch that matches my attire or mood, and just pick one that is the 'former' full size men's line instead of the giant clown watches that pass for full size these days. There are plenty of 'women's' watches today that mimic the old sized standard, as well as design, so it's easy to wear something that's essentially female attire while still in male mode. Ebay supplies a plethora of borderline 'pretty' watches intended for women, but in designs that used to be reserved for men. See pic below. The 'old' standard for a men's dress watch was about 28mm to 32mm (diameter of case, NOT including the crown aka winding stem), that was back around the 1950's. Today's watches I think are far oversized, perhaps as conspicuous consumption has taken over and some men feel the need to broadcast their giant watches. Or maybe it's just the baby boomers needed bigger watches as their eyesight started failing, that would explain Flava flav with the clock.

Some causes of crossdressing you've probably never even considered: My TG biography at:http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/...=1#post1490560
There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.
Hello, Brenda. On a recent mall trip, had a "kiosk attendant" call me "Maam" while trying to get my attn. Granted, she was 12 ft off to my left, "passing" in the mall had me grinning all the way home. Just another Old Girl out shopping.
I will go out in my garage and walk around on the cement floor just for that click of the heel. I absolutely love the feeling of sliding a silky dress on ... feels so sensual!
Now days I'm just happy to exist. lol I do get a kick when I bend over and my blouse hangs so that I can see the pretty bra I'm wearing. It used to be guys that were trying to see what they could. Oh well.
Yes, most all of it. Clicking of heels, lipstick on a glass, feel of long hair on my face, feel of the bra, handling things differently with long nails
Oh and being called "ma'am" by a young couple who thought I was the mom of a couple kids running unattended in the mall. We quickly found the real mom and the kids were safe. That couple had no idea how they made my day!!!!!!!
I was thinking of this very thread the other day. The sound of heels is one of the most effective ques in the womanization of me. I just love the sound of high heels. I have gone out a couple of times and waking in heels triggers a real adrenaline rush and a feeling of euphoria in me. coupled with a slip and pantyhose it's nirvana for me.

I would have to say D, for all the above!

It's worth something just being around to Fuss!
Since the title of the thread is “The little things”, I would have to say seeing my painted toe nails and my hands with feminine rings on my pretty press on nail finger tips.
If I can’t fully dress at times, these few little things make me happy.
The lipstick on wine glass: Perfect. It makes me feel like I'm home. I love the sound of my heels too, but they often are accompanied by the thought "don't fall". After all these years I still haven't perfected the walk
I have my toes painted and it always remind me that I am a girl..
Part Time Girl
All you mentioned. Walking by a mirror and seeing your reflection. The smell of perfume. Touch ups. 💄👠
At this age, just waking up in the morning...again!
Everything mentioned so far, plus the feeling I get when buying something openly for myself when in the past everything was for 'my wife'.
Here today, gone tomorrow....
I have a few natural colour lipsticks and love when I'm out and I could taste the lipstick. That makes me smile
Catching a glimpse of my polished nails when driving or when putting on my "face" and getting a quick look in the mirror while out shopping. Far too many to list here.

It may of course be a bit disturbing to sense that one is really not so firmly anchored to the gender one was born into.
Looking at my hands with long nails or feeling a dress swish when you turn
Being on the green side of the grass.

Looking down at my painted toes when I'm taking a shower.
The first few times I did that it was like an out of body experience. Uh, whose feet are those? OK, me. Cool.
Hi, I'm Steffi and I'm a crossdresser... And I accept and celebrate both sides of me. Or, maybe I'm gender fluid.
All of it, seeing the inner woman within me coming to the surface is an amazing feeling.
Nice topic Brenda, as mentioned above, the click of my heels, the lippy marks on my wine glass, the slight tug of my bra strap on my shoulder and the slight breeze I feel under my skirt when moving ...
A.K.A Rebecca & Bec
Having painted nails and the feel of long earrings
Another day! Lipstick on the coffee mug! Looking down at the hand in my lap with the pretty nail polish! Just the taste of the lipstick! The feeling of the forms against my chest and their warmth once they get warmed up! The twirl of my night shirt when I walk down the hall! My reflection in the stores windows! To name a few!
