    Daughter helped and offered help!!!

I switched out earrings today and could not after many attempts get the backing on the left one! So I asked my daughter to help and she did! I was in male mode! She said to me, "If you are ever going out dressed and need a zipper pulled up or anything let me know. I just don't want you sitting around the house dressed." Is that acceptance and incentive for going out dressed? Hugs Lana Mae

My daughter is only 3, but that does sound like a fun possibility for the future. Sounds like you have a great kid there.

I’d take it as both greater acceptance and encouragement

Of course id also explore what sitting around the house ‘dressed’ means. Obviously you wear clothes at home, and earrings, nail polish...so it would be interesting to learn where your daughters issues begin... breast forms? Make up, a wig, a dress or some combination thereof.

Lana Mae, this is wonderful news! I take it as encouragement to go out dressed. Is she willing to go with you yet?

    Lana,
She is coming round , you know the score , don't rush things .

Her comment sounds very much like the one my wife made about wearing a nightie in bed , it's OK if it helps you sleep better but don't flaunt it !

Good for you two. Agree with Kim about seeking a little more definition of what she would be comfortable with around the house.

Jaylyn-Thanks! It is interesting how it is growing!
Kim-Funny you should suggest that as after talking a little it seems she is afraid that i am going to turn all girly and giggly or something! I told her it is still me just the clothes are changing! I did not get a real reply to that! Yes, encouragement and acceptance! Oh, yeah!
Sami-Yes she actually encouraged me to go out, but she is not the going out type! If this develops a little further I might get her to go out for a meal but that would be a bout as far as it would go! No shopping etc.
Paula-I have to be daddy in our times together unless it is her zipping a zipper or putting a backing on an earring. She has seen me dressed once in real life when I stumbled in the door after going to the mall! Otherwise she basically does not want to see daddy in a dress!
Teresa-She really seems most hung up on mannerisms! Like I am going to be some brainless hussy! LOL I really should just sit her down and we have a regular discussion session but I was waiting for a few more of my counseling sessions to see where I am going first!
Laura-Thanks! Please see my response to Teresa!
    Jamie-Yes I am truly blessed!
    Thanks everyone for your responses!

I understand her fears. So, its not about the clothes per se, but mannerisms. I don't suppose you're any more likely to effect a valley-girl mannerism than I am, and I would guess that perhaps you do have some feminine mannerism that bleed through when you're en drab. Not sure what to do with that, except, perhaps to invite her out to dinner!

Kim, she is very aware of my "normal" (male mode) feminine mannerisms and really does not object, I guess she thinks they will get worse or something! LOL Hugs Lana Mae

Lana, you know what they always say. The relationship between a "Father and Daughter" are very special. That really rings true in your relationship with your daughter. May you both continue to grow in this relationship.: hugs:
