Today at work, I had something happened that amazed me. When I'm working I'm constantly interacting with the public. Do to the nature of my work I'm not always dealing with the best people that you can run into, in fact most of the time I have to deal with the exact opposite. Today was no exception and one of the individuals that I had to deal with decide to have an attitude and started mouthing off. He was not happy and some of the things that came out of his mouth were "You make an ugly woman" and "You should do yourself a favor and just change back into a man". After he decide to see things my way and left on his own before he would have been escorted away, I had time to think. In the past comments like he made would upset me and cause me to feel bad, but today something different happened. I realized that his comments didn't bother me, and I really didn't care what he thought. If he wanted to live his life hating and trying to put others down that was his problem, not mine. I didn't decide to transition to be beautiful, or to get other peoples approval, I did it for me andI am happy being me and living how I wanted. I feel closer to my goal now than ever before.
