    Laser hair removal genital area

I've done laser on my entire body. I recommend it everything's great with that. I've noticed reduced effectiveness in the sensitive area mentioned in the title. Has anyone else found laser to be less effective in the genital area? Any suggestions for improving this? My thought is the depth of the hair follicles might be different and therefore require a different laser penetration depth. Any consideration to this? Would a different laser machine help? Would a different what do they call those plastic spacer things that go around the laser head? Do they just set the width of the pattern or did those also affect the depth the laser can reach? Or is the depth just fixed based on the wavelength of the laser being used? I know this is a bit specific but we can stick to the simple question. Has anyone else found it to be less effective down there?

my laser person uses "SHR" laser - a new technology using more heat but less damaging, and she has a lot of clients who do the "full hollywood" no problem. worth checking it out as a different tech. xx

I used to believe this, now I'm in the company of many tiggers. A tigger does not wonder why she is a tigger, she just is a tigger.

Genifer, may be my comment doesn't help but just in case.
I've been using a very cheap system HLP.
Probably you know about it. If not is home light pulse. It's slow than laser but less invasive. Now I don't need to shave my legs, chest, arms, include the hands and working in the belly and lower down there in the genitals.
The brand I use is silk'n bellaglide.
To follow the manufacturer instructions doesn't work, it must be used as often you can, daily or twice s day, soon you'll see the changes.
Eventually hair doesn't grow again. I'm in the stage that when hair grows again after a month, is very thin so it's hard to see it, so I shave and use the hlp machine again.
If you want more detailed instructions just pm me.

As I stated I understand how laser works and I've had great success with it over the years. I've done my entire body. No issues with the process and it works well. My question specifically relates to having different experiences in the genital area. It's been so long since I started probably 10 years ago I'm not sure but I think I use the light sheer laser. I'd have to look that up to remind myself. I know different parts of the body react differently to it based on hair regrowth etcetera. So my question is about the genital area. What differences have you experienced if any and what do you think is a solution. It just seems like I keep redoing that area over and over and he keeps growing back.

Genifer, do you apply it yourself or someone else, a professional does for you?

Someone who does this work once told me that yes the hairs down there are deeper and stronger (a bit like male facial hair) and therefore require more powerful laser treatment BUT the flesh is so much more sensitive that if anything they need to turn the power down not up to prevent excess pain. Bit of a double whammy I'm afraid.

Anagen depth on the genitals isn't radically different from other areas of the body. Hair down there (except the public mound) can be difficult to insert on due to all the wrinkles and contours, which is the biggest challenge in that area, laser will have similar issues. Hair on the public mount itself is often pretty robust and more like beard hair compared to the rest and can take a bit of effort to treat (using electrolysis it takes a fair bit of power and/or multiple thermolysis blasts at different depths to get out) but are (mostly) straight and not as difficult to insert on.

Well since I've done everywhere else at a specialist a private practice, i know generally what to expect. Had more sessions that I need to explain over the course of many years . This area is the one place that seems to elude progress. This includes the shaft and balls and continues through the taint area. Just seems that after so many sessions there's little progress just continued regrowth. So I'm asking for serious answers from people with real experience. Thanks for those that have helped so far.

Maybe it's not the depth of the hair follicles. I just know that some areas the hair is coarser and stronger. For some reason the underarms is a very easy area to work on. The regrowth rate there is very slow. So after just a few times it will seem like all is done and need very little touch-ups. Just asking what anyone's experience has been down there. Hoping someone has info to share.

Has anyone done full body laser hair removal?

I can get someone SRS ready in about 6-8 months (enough hair reduction for SRS, 6 months minimum, 8+ months ideal but 6 is just enough.) If you don't see a significant reduction by 8 months, it isn't working.

On the bright side, if you are willing to opt for electrolysis, there is a top tier world class electrolysis team just outside Manhattan (Great Neck) which could make easy work of it.

I had full body laser hair removal done last year. It was done at a laser clinic using a Candela laser. I had my first ‘touch up’ session a few weeks ago.

I only needed it in the genital area. The clinician said that pubic area regrowth is more common than any other area.

Over the past year I've moved on from waxing my entire body to slowly working in laser hair removal. I now have had LHR on my neck, chest, abs and bikini area. I'm sorry but I don't know the exact type of machine my esthetician uses, but she told me it's the latest available (she resisted getting a machine until the latest technology came out). I've found my bikini area has worked pretty well. If anything, better than the other areas. I'm in my late 50s, and gray hair is complicating things. For instance certain areas have more gray and that doesn't respond well (or at all) with LHR. However in my bikini area my hair is not only coarser, but darker, which has responded very well. I'm working up to my beard area soon (I've heard this will hurt). I'm pretty pain tolerant but worried but it's all worth it! As I've told my gender therapist my body (i.e., lack of hair) is now catching up to my brain, as in my body is looking more feminine now even though my brain has known I'm a woman for a long time
