A Night I Will Never Forget!

I fool no one, I never pass and am 100% completely accepted by most. I have been able to become a valuable contributor to many organizations, on my own terms. My point, it's about the person in the dress, the attitude taken when approaching society. Your clothing is truly irrelevant.

Go out, be smart, be appropriate and be confident! The world is a whole lot more welcoming than the media would have you believe.

Kandi, Your modesty and humility is a huge inspiration especially considering some of the conversations on the forum lately. Danielle will never be out in public but if she were to venture out I could only hope she could be such a fantastic representative of our community as you are. Great story of that night! I enjoyed reading your account of night on your blog. You're a great ambassador for the trans community. Especially in this day and age of bathroom bills and such.

Thank you all for your very kind and probably undeserved complements! This is the perfect example of what I refer to as my selfish unselfishness. Yes, I am giving my time, but I get much, much more in return. From the ability to dress for a specific occasion, to being treated like one of the ladies to the smiles from the kids, to the sense of community, nothing better!

The truth of the matter is that in most of my encounters, I am probably the first "person like me" that many interact with, certainly on an extended basis. I feel obligated to leave them with nothing but a positive impression. This is how we make it better for our sisters to follow and thank those that came before us. I went home that night feeling so blessed, for what I experienced and frankly, for the people that recognized me at the casino!
