I had a thought last night wondering if it would be possible to go to a hypnotist and be hypnotized to act like a woman? Walk like a woman, talk like a woman, sit like a woman, etc..
These things can be learned I suppose, but with great concentration and effort. Being hypnotized would seem much easier.

Not all women walk, talk, and sit the same way, and some in a not so feminine manner. A hypnotized man would most likely appear to be an over-the-top stereotype of an effeminate man.
The only thing it may result in, is you're behaving as YOU think women behave. Especially since you don't have the proper anatomy, there's no way to give you some magic thoughts that will instantly make you appear to be behaving physically exactly as a GG does. Besides, right now one of the biggest tells is going just a little too far over the top, and accentuating stereotypical female movement TOO much, which just quickly draws the attention of the eye and makes you even more likely to be examined critically for anything else that might indicate that you're not what you appear to be.

Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.
I am not sure hypnotism works as we imagine.
I was supposedly hypnotised on stage years ago and I do not remember anything that happened whilst under the trance.

The first thing when it comes to being hypnotized, I understand< is you must believe it's possible. I would love to be hypnotized for some different things...starting with a mindset of being female. I would prefer a partner that would use a trigger word/words. How cool would that be!??!? I'm too cheap to buy all any of the hypnotic downloads or CD's from websites (like warpmymind.com) but I've tried some of the free stuff and it does have some effect but you have to be religious for doing them consistently.
My understanding is that the jury is still out on the effectiveness of hypnosis for long term behavioral modification. Or to put it another way, we only know that hypnosis works WHILE you’re under, so unless you want to remain in a hypnotic state forever...
There are stories of people using hypnosis for weight loss or smoking cessation, but we only have anecdotal evidence there.
To be honest, I don’t know that I WANT someone tinkering with my unconscious thoughts. I think I’d rather attend a “finishing school” to learn that kind of stuff.

A friend went to a hypnotist to quit smoking and it seems he did quit.
We both quit within the same month in 2016 and I just did it cold turkey which wasn't hard.
I paid nothing and he paid $250 so if you think it will work go ahead.
Personally I would not like someone to manipulate my thoughts with trigger words and cause me to do things with out my knowledge.
An interesting question. I truly enjoy the intelligent and informed, sometimes instinctive, reactions of my forum sisters.
But let me take the hypnosis suggestion a step beyond and flip over the coin.
What about using hypnosis to "cure" you and other crossdressers or possible transgenders? What is hypnosis was used to remove the femme instinct or feminine feelings that compel a man to want to live as a woman?
Certainly this Life Fact (CD/TG) has caused almost every member of this forum, at some time in their lives and relationships, some amount of shame, conflict, turmoil, rejection, personal sadness,...etc. You all know the life.
Now.... personally I wouldn't want such a treatment, despite the fact my feminine life has indeed caused major problems. I get too much in return from living out ALL of myself.
Secondly, would such a treatment even work? Would it be false and perhaps offensive, kind of like Conversion Therapy for gay/lesbian children. (a stupid idea, BTW, that only continues the unnecessary cultural shaming of LGBT people).
We talk of hypnosis as something that might enhance our femme body language side, but could it also be turned "against" CD's when spouses start demanding hypnotic CD therapy?

Ilene, For some of us our desire to crossdress has cause serious problems in our lives and some of us feel a deep compulsion to dress as women. For those where crossdressing is causing serious problems, perhaps hypnosis (if it really worked) to reduce the desire to crossdress would be a blessing.

I am a transgender person. And I'm still figuring out what that means.
The problem is even if it works, women have been women all their lives. So they naturally act like women.
Without a lifetime of subcontiously acting like a woman, how does your subconscious mind know how to act like a woman?
So as Nicole said before, you would probably just end up looking like an man trying to act like a woman.

I don't think that will work either, Carolyn. I remember old blue eyes quite well. Don't recall him ever doing a realistic female presentation. Or, ANY female impersonations for that matter!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.
Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!
Perhaps you might be hypnotized to emulate a woman in the same way that some have been hypnotized to emulate a chicken....probably about as authentic and convincing. But I'm only speculating, give it a try and report back.

Hypnotherapy relies on the base promise that the subconscious/base personality wants the change.
Hypnotherapy needs a willing mind.
If a hypnotherapist gave me an onion and told me it was an apple, I still wouldn't eat it as I'm not into apples.
If they tell me to kill someone, it wouldn't work because it violates a core identity rule.
For me, being hypnotised to act more feminine wouldn't work as it would only address a sub personality and not my core personality.
Hypnotherapy will not alter my physical muscle and joint configurations or make my boobs and bum bigger.
I've used hypnotherapy as a shortcut to meditation, where I can address core issues, or just hide.

More seriously, these hypnosis fantasies just seem like another way of rationalizing that one doesn't want something that's perceived to be socially unacceptable to want. "I wish I could be forced into it."
Hypnosis can't make you do anything you would NOT want to do in the first place. When you are Hypnotized, you DO feel good, like when you first wake up in the morning and don't want to move, just yet. You want to "keep" the good feeling.---When hypnotized, you are doing a "balancing game"---you know you will keep "the feeling" as long as you follow "instructions"----so hey, why not? you ARE aware of what is going on at the time. But if doing something is against your desires or feelings, you won't do it----The "spell" is broken, it was not worth it to YOU to do that.---so you not only don't follow the command, but of course, you are no longer in that blissful Hypnotic state.
At least that's the way it is in most Hypnotic situations.---And also you cannot do something you might not know how to do in the first place.
Of course Hypnosis is a more complicated subject, including "deeper trance states", "Post hypnotic suggestions" and the like. But the above usually holds at all levels. ( I have done Hypnosis for "past life recalls", fun, etc.)
I have a peculiar "inability" as far as "acting like a Woman" goes---I can either Dress like one and present a fair "appearance" OR I can act like one in Male mode, but I cannot make myself do BOTH at the same time ---In public anyway. A personal "hang -up" to be sure---perhaps Hypnosis might help. That is a big reason I do not go out--save for Costume party of stage skits, dressed---(It does not matter in those cases)

Hypnosis will not enable you to be a great pianist or singer or painter or actor, or as the OP posits: "act like a woman or walk like a woman or talk like a woman or sit like a woman," unless you already have those skills.
It's a fun fantasy though.

.It would depend on your concept of how a woman acts; this could be Milton Berle in drag, Mrs. Doubtfire, Tootsie, Ann-Margaret, Kathleen Turner, Susan Sarandon, your Mom, sister, grandma, or neighbor lady or just about anyone else and knowing how to achieve that behavior.
Seems pretty doubtful to me.

I'm not sure how long hynosis can last for, I know people use it to stop smoking but is it a short term influence that enables the person to break the habit ?
In the circusatnces you describe could you transpose the word hypnotise to read brainwash , in fact is it the same thing ?
Now if it were possible, it's suggesting there's a cure , I'm so glad my wife didn't get to hear of it !!
