As I type, I'm in absolute FULL femme, not wanting to change for all of the tea in China! I'm almost giddy with left-over excitement!
Why, I hear you ask?
I made my 9 AM appointment at SEPHORA's for a fantastic experience in learning more about makeup. There were three of us, but I was the only one dressed to the nines. Two young ladies and one guy (Sam) were the MU artists. Mine was Kylie, a real pro. We were shown virtually every aspect of using makeup (except eyebrows, shadow and mascara), and as each demo was finished, we got to do it on ourselves! Brushes were provided, and we were shown how to correctly use them. DAB with the brushes, don't 'brush' (leaves streaks and may move the underlying makeup). I was skin color matched to a liquid foundation that was perfect!
I asked a lot of questions and got terrific answers. Photos were taken (I'd submit but don't know how!). They spent 1 1/2 hours with us. When I left, I felt glamorous! I walked by many people on my way to my car, with head held high and knockers up, and never got a negative glance that I know of.
With my confidence on high, I drove through the main part of Huntington Beach with my window down just daring anyone (beach-goers) to look at me and not see a lady. I was hungry, and just having spent $75 on only three makeup items, I decided to eat cheap (at Jack's), INSIDE! I ordered in a soft voice, got my food and sat at a corner table to consume same while I looked at the many photos taken of me at the studio. I was in awe of my images with the makeup on.
So, I then headed home and on the way I stopped at a park (lots of people and kids) and very ladylike swung my legs/dress outside the door, got out, walked to an overlook and took selfies. I don't know if anyone looked and I really didn't care. I was being my girl-self, for ME!
Back to the car to drive home. I said to myself, self, you gotta go all the way fully dressed. So I did... turned slowly onto my street, scanned up the neighborhood to see if my coast was clear (it was) and with wig, makeup, earrings and my jewelry leading me on, opened the garage door remotely, drove in and closed the door. I DID IT in broad daylight!
The excitement is waning a bit now, but I learned that yes, I can be out among the normals, as it was really much easier then I anticipated, and I will be doing it again!
Sorry for the length, but I just had to share my day of awakening.
