This cartoonist has done several over the years,
In one sense the cartoon reminds people that there are lots of us out there which I think is good.
On the bad side it I guess is bad maybe since he hasn't told his wife

My vote is it's pretty funny too! I figure it this way....anyone who reads it and doesn't understand it will ask questions. I think that by them asking questions of someone who understands it is essentially good also....but... if they ask an actual crossdresser then it might make him uncomfortable to explain it because "what if they ask how I know all of this" ...which again is a little funny as we all kind of worry about questions like that. So how is that for over thinking it??

At Easter season around here they often "Dress the cross", drape a purple length of fabric over the arms of a large cross, out front of the church. A running joke is "the preacher was seen cross dressing".

It may of course be a bit disturbing to sense that one is really not so firmly anchored to the gender one was born into.

I think it is cute. Yes, if you cannot laugh at yourself, then.... This cartoon is rather tame when it comes to cross dressing cartoons. The internet is loaded with cartoon which are not in good taste.

It's harmless enough ! What made me smile is I've just been making a reply to a body shaving problem, now I would say Mr. Porcupine has a real body shaving problem !!
It depends on how it's presented. Something where crossdressing is just presented as a thing some folks do, and here's a funny situation that can arise from it, is harmless fun. This is a fine example of that.
I've also seen plenty of examples where crossdressing itself is the punchline, like "hurf durf this guy wears a dress, what a pervy weirdo", which is obviously not OK.
But yeah, as others have said, you need to keep a sense of humor about yourself, as a general rule.
I’ve given this some thought over the years and from my Midwest perspective, I believe both. For us, they’re funny, because we can identify and have empathy with that brand of humor....but I never hear any comments from my friends about a cding joke, cartoon strip, or cartoon. One example, a friend of mine, told us he wears pantyhose when he hunts. The “teasing” that followed was cruel and not funny. Some have continued to tease him. I don’t know or care what he wears or if he cd, but I think he’s sorry he said anything. I saw a cartoon once showing a laborer with a hard hat and jackhammer. The balloon showed him in a dress. No one got it...I did and smiled.
