CD ing around illnesses... and heat..

Perhaps this might have been covered b4. Sometimes we hv to make diff flavors of "lemonade" Waited yrs to be in a loc where I can Dress -as-I-please, w/o interferrance… But have been dealing with illness and Loss-of-eyesight that have curtailed my trips outside (plus-its just too hot!). A "reality-check" of sorts. The "if Im not going to wear all of this- why have so much??" thing. Have done considerable purge-down of inventory, keeping the items Im most likely to actually wear. When it gets cooler---IF Im feeling well enough to go full-on for short trips. Suppose others have faced similar things-having all the 'equipment" and the "time"--- but then hit with "hurdles" and "inconviences" that cripple our plans. Havent posted much here for a while- as vision makes it difficult to see what I type! Eye makeup has become impossible-- except for brow-drawing. Looking for high-power mag lamp to use for doing my nails- as they are becoming difficult to paint cleanly! . Some parts of "getting older" are Not Fun. Toni G...

Hi Toni , It is so sad to hear about your vision, I am 12yrs older than you and I wonder sometimes

whether it is time to start thinning out my large collection. >Orchid OO..
Having my ears triple pierced is AWESOME, ~~......

I can explain it to you, But I can't comprehend it for you !

If at first you don't succeed, Then Skydiving isn't for you.

Be careful what you wish for, Once you ring a bell , you just can't Un-Ring it !! !!

Toni I am sad to hear you are having vision issues mine isn't the best either so I understand to some extent.
I have more clothes than I need and most don't fit anymore so I take items to Goodwill regularly and find items that will fit. I have kept a few items I like in hopes I will be able to wear them again once I get off anti seizure meds and lose lots of weight
When its really hot I just stay inside because the meds I am on will make me burn very easily if the sun is high in the sky.

Tnx, Traci.. it was past time to downsize anyway! Lots of stuff went to the GW store where they came from!! Kept the slacks/crop pants/ankle pants that I will use, plus some 38 Tops/tanks/ tunics that match those pants. Down to 16 prs of shoes--those most comfortable. Five purses, three wigs. It was time to clean house! Irritating blepharitis that was gone for a while has returned with vengeance---causing lots of eye-rinsing, drops, and precludes proper makeup use ! Stuff gets ruined! But-- did go to an activity today with one of my many "boyfriend" style ribbed tanks, over my "ladies" pull-on cords, girly socks, off-white somewhat "girly" sneakers, and panties underneath. At least you are making the most out of your current situation. It lets you be a little girly without the hassle of the makeup, etc.

Glad you got out for a while today.
Is your blepharitis the anterior type? Just on the outside is the only kind I have seen.
I got out and mowed my lawn thats about it.
About 7:00 I took my nightly 1 mile walk which was uneventful like it is every night LOL

If I am ill temporarily, I just won’t dress during that time. If I ever have a health issue in which is permanent and affects my crossdressing dressing in which I couldn’t enjoy the dressing to it’s fullest, then there is a good chance I would walk away from crossdressing all together

I battled stomach problems for the last 9 or so months before getting a good result and finally off meds, during that time I had many down days and during those times dressing did go a bit on the back burner, not feeling oneself does not help at all but one must look to the future and that things will get better as they did with me. We must all be strong on this and have the resolve and force within ourselves to make the best of ,what we have got and strive to overcome those pitfalls, these days I have come to realise that no matter what, somewhere there is a way out of ones problems.

I've wondered about this also. I'm approaching 70 rapidly and starting to feel the aches and pains, but so far I'm dealing with them. I've been diagnosed with a slight touch of arthritis in my right hand. I have dacided to dress as long as it can but when I can no longer everything I have will simply just be thrown away in the bottom of our dumpster. Living in the country away from town we pay for the dumpster and the trucks that pick it up once a week come from a city 90 miles from us. My old clothes, makeup, heels and such are just not worth driving over 60 miles to donate. I've already deleted every thing that doesn't fit so it will be easier to manage.
Bottom line is ill just stop dressing when I'm not functioning any more where it feels good. You are 100% correct some parts of getting older just plain suck.

If you were just a CD I think most could stop if they had to.Especially if you are in the closet
Myself being trans there would no reason to all of a sudden to only wear mens clothes.

This is a clear indication a consultation with an opthamologist (MD specialising in eye issues) is in order, if you haven't already done so. One of the objectives is ruling out a staphlococcal infection (treatable with antibiotics). Acne rosacea is another common culprit.

There may be other underlying issues, including but not limited to a detached retina, which is a "head to the nearest hospital emergency department immediately" situation. Sudden loss of eyesight is one of the ways a detached retina shows up.

I am an unlicensed engineer, not a medical doctor; what I posted above came from WebMD. There are some deceased MDs (parent's and grandparents generation) in my family.

The Blepharitis that I have is the Very Annoying tear-ducts-make-sticky-gunk thing. It had gone away in the past- and was able to do some eye makeup on occasion. That's out for the moment. The cataracts and the ocular-migranes(not headaches) are a diff problem. Think there was a song----"everything-is-blurry-now--can-not-see-a-thing" Still Dress some for evening trips to the dumpsters, or mail---with wig & partial makeup. Short trips in the dark. Did have/still have some Pink Fog on occasion--picked up 2 pr of Croft & Barrow sandals-one wedge/one cone-heel-- they are Great! Have a "wideness" to them tho they are 10m. Good for the Mall-- when we are able to get back there again. Toni G..
