    Question Prom, Dances or Parties

A kid I used to be friends with (who we'll call M) needed a date to the prom. He reminded me of all the times I borrowed money from him and never repaid him and stated that for payback I should pretend to be his date.I had laughed at M thinking it was just a joke but when he told me he was serious I tried to convince him that I was going to pay him back and there was no need for either of us to do that but he was not convinced.
Realizing I was on the losing end of this argument and that this was our final year in High School and if I got a pretty convincing makeover only a select few would even know it was me. I decided "**** it I'm never gonna see most of those people again" and I agreed to it.
I went to a dress fitting, got a hair appointment you know the whole nine yards. The dress store had been an kind of exciting experience with M making me try on at least 10 dresses in a store full of girls my age. When I came out of the dressing room to show M each dress all the girls and Moms in the shop stopped and stared as if they were all invested in what the lone boy trying on dresses was ultimately going to choose. A particularly funny moment was when I emerged from the dressing room in a particularly tight and short, form fitting red dress, a mom who was in the dressing room next to me came up to me and told me I "looked sexy" was "very brave" and was "just as much a girl as the rest of them" and then told me that I hadn't zipped up the back and did it for me. Not knowing what to say I gave her a quiet thank you.
When it finally arrived (Gulp) I lied to my parents and told them I was going to hang out with M tonight (well I was but not in the way they thought). When I got in his car stopped at the place were I got my dress and picked it up I had to change in his car, we then stopped at the salon and I got a complete makeover plus my hair and nails done, when we finally arrived at M's house I saw his whole family outside ready to take pictures. he assured me that only he and I were the only ones that know I'm a guy, he never told his family about our little deal everybody will think I'm a girl. Knowing I can't be having second thoughts now, especially all dolled up like I was in his car M went to open the door as I zipped myself up, grabbed my shoes, and with a deep breath, stepped out and posed with him for everyone, his mom asked how we met and M said we had the same environmental science class.
His sister was chatting my ear off saying how we have got to hang out after all this. We finally arrived at the prom at 8:41 p.m. and as we walked through the hall I noticed that with the heels I was only an inch or two shorter than M, I was also nervous that people would figure out it was me. Some did and yeah they laughed at me and called me names, I took it in stride and ignored them. Others were actually amazed at how I looked and complimented me. I danced with M and actually had a great time, I also ate some damn good cheesecake. We didn't win prom king and queen sadly. We took some photos and at around 1:08 a.m. we decided to leave. We stopped at a Buffalo Wild Wings and I changed back into my regular clothes as he drove me home. The next day M asked me how did it feel and to be honest it was actually pretty fun. So I'm curious, have any of you ever cross dressed and went to a prom or dance or party? If so, how did it feel? Did anyone know it was you? Did you have a date? Would you do it again? If you haven't would you ever want to?

Yes, I did something similar to that in 1981, but it was for a costume party at a big company event. I dressed like a regular woman, no frills, just the basics from low chunky heels, pantyhose, my brown hair grayed using some Vaseline and baby powder, a woman's knit cap, simple house dress and water balloon filled bra from our big busted children's teacher, and lip stick and makeup done by my wife. I danced the night away with the men, never bought a drink all night, but was never without a drink nearby, and even used the women's restroom all night escorted by my GG secretary, and had the most wonderful costume party time in my life. Some ladies actually thought I was a woman at first. Funny thing was, that was before I ever knew that I wanted to dress as a woman (started in 2006 from zero). I did all those milestone, somewhat forbidden things that most CD's want to accomplish over time. I did most of them in one night.

I am really impressed with your accomplishments and very happy that you also enjoyed the moment and just went for it all out. That is really fantastic because yours was a prom, not a costume party. Thanks so much for sharing. From the old pictures, you look terrific.

Leslie, your pictures are lovely, you are a beautiful young lady. While I would have loved such an opportunity, this did not happen in the late 70s when I was in high school.
Please call me Jamie, I always_have crossdressed, I always will, "alwayshave".

I was just one of four girls who went to Saturday night dances, the girls gave me all the molar support I needed.

What you did would be most memorable.

No, but if they did I probably didn't notice. I was too preoccupied with my date to care.

I have been to dinner dressed, as well as lunch! I even went into a store for directions as Roxanne. I was so embarrassed! But, you know, I had such a grande time, and felt ever so sweet, that I simply adored it so much! I hope I will have the chance to do it again, sometime!

hope its not too long a story - Halloween dance and party at my high school my Senior year I was going to go all out. Shortest mini-dress I had, heels and full makeup. My hair was mid-back so with a bit of work I was planning on presenting as a fully passable girl that night. My Mom and I were in a DADT situation except for this night. She arranged for her/my hairdresser to "give me the works" - hair, makeup nails, etc. When I got home she had a pale yellow satin and white halter top floor length prom dress waiting for me (this was 1974). I was in heaven. Got dressed and as we were finishing up the doorbell rang. I thought maybe she had a limo or something. Nope, a GIRL friend of mine from school was standing there in a black tux with yellow cummerbund. She had a yellow corsage for me and everything. She took me to dinner, to the dance/party and to an after-dance get-together at a local all-night restaurant. Mom dropped hints/comments later that it was the closest to a Prom night she could give me without it being questioned if someone figured out who I was.

Back in the early 60s I went to a drive in movie beach party contest. A friend talked me into it and my landlady knew I crossdressed. She was a beautician helped me get the right clothes, wig, and did my makeup. I went as a Sandra Dee type girl. He had a 56 Chevy convertible. We drove around and let people vote. As luck would happen we won the contest. When we went to pick up the trophy and they presented it to us he had his hand around my waist and reached over and kissed me. We did go to the dance before the movie started. Luckily, my sisters had taught me to dance as a girl. We went out several times afterwards. I almost always dressed. His mother took me shopping and lunch a few times as her future daughter-in-law. While I liked going out and experiencing the girl effect. It was fun having him slide his hand up my nylon covered legs or play with my boobs through my slip and bra. Unfortunetley for him I always wore panty girdles to hold up my nylons. We seperated because I wasn't gay and he wanted a guy.

I have gone to two formal galas at the French Embassy when I was living in Washington DC. It was great. I went to Rent the Runway and got the same dress in two different colors and tried them on. There was no questions going through the security with my male I’d and dressed to the nines for the gala. Overall great experience. Also you look super cute in your dress! By the looks of the pictures you could easily pass as a gg!

Clearly a fantasy story but it's fine, we occasionally get those! :-)

Yes, I'm been to a couple dances and parties, I was a Maid of Honor in a wedding.
