    What is your spiritual gender?

I see gender as a continuum, some of us here are CD's others are Transgendered and all the myriads of other stops on the continuum.

There are many definitions of Gender: birth, chromosomes, body parts, presentation, brain etc etc..

My question is a simple one: Spiritually are you male or female?

    My answer: Female

I also consider myself to be somewhere on the TG spectrum.

Spiritually I think I’m male with female overtones. Kind of like a vanilla (male) ice cream with a strawberry (female) swirl.

Definitely female for me, the goddess is the one. I always dress for rituals - next one is the Autumn equinox this coming Sunday. I get made up and wear favourite comfortable clothes then create the altar, invite the guardians and Goddess and reflect, meditate and set plans for the future. My wife performs these rituals with me, it is good to ground ourselves.

After spending 50 years thinking I was simply a man before I began dressing?

I was shocked recently when a close female friend I was doing a Sherry shoot with said, "U have a female spirit!"
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

    Becky,
If you want a flippant answer spiritually I'm all for a good malt whiskey !!

I'd have to say without hesitation Female , It just gets easier , I feel more comfortable . The labels don't have very much meaning now , in fact at home it doesn't feel like crossdressing , going out and about I'm more concerned if I've chosen the right outfit . I have to smile because we assume GGs have it all sussed out but they think very much about the same issue .

Definitely male, but then again, I am an ESCAPIST who from time to time needs to become "NOT-ME" or "Marina" a female who is my opposite counterpart. Marina has non of my concerns, worries or responsibilities that I have as a male or as myself.----she can totally relax and unwind and also enjoys "being pretty".

I think my signature line explains it for me.
I am a vessel of the goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.

I would say female other then the body. I have a lot of emotions, feelings that would fall more in a female norm.

I would say that spiritually I am female inside. I feel more like my real self when I am wearing female clothing than I do when wearing male clothing.

When seeing my spirit in a smoke lit space, it would appear to be not unlike that of the Spirit Mother of the West; FEMALE!

Yet my answer must be neither as I Spiritually see no gender!

    Just me though,

For me it has varied over time. There were times in the past when I could have honestly answered male but now I would say female.

I am male, and a fairly masculine one at that. I love the feel and look of women's clothes - somehow I look good in them - but even when I go out dressed to the nines in heels, dress and wig, walking like a woman .... I am still male. Just like an actor who plays Napoleon on stage - he doesn't think he really is Napoleon.

Definately female dressing as I please makes being drab on those (thankfully rare occasions) a far removed thing, certainly a nicer way of life, also a softer way too.
I started life a lost man now I am a found woman

Another great question Becky. I would have to say female and feminine. I have always thought that if there is a spiritual essence in the Universe it has to be a creative essence and that, in terms of biology, pegs it as female. Although there is no reason for the spiritual to have a sex or gender, if it did I firmly believe it would be female/feminine. I look around as both a creature and as a scientist and I see hints of that creativity, sensitivity, and caring we so strongly associate with the feminine. So, my spirit must also be feminine, if it needs a gender at all. But, that said, an argument can be made for it being male/masculine. I just don't see that aspect. Perhaps because I am not particularly fond of male/masculine.

    Oh, Dazy!

Spiritually or spiritual identity is to be seen as you wish. Some look in the mirror to see it and some will burn incense to see it, some just feel it!

I like to think of it as the perfume which wafts from my soul!

    Now back to Becks question!

I don't have a 'spirit', no invisible soul or anything floating around. I'm male. All the stereotypical female feelings, things that I do or wish to experience comes from some previous experience's influence.

There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.

This thought seems to come out of the thoughts of Native Americans who believe in two spirt people and even some celebrate them. I’ve not thought much about this but as time has gone by I do believe mine is female but I am split in someway which can be annoying at times. There is no doubt I lean very much toward my female side and very much embrace it as much as I can

It's hard to say for my spiritual side but I can vary from feeling masculine to feeling femmine. It seems the older I get the more femme is showing thru or is that the mellowing out part?
