Make it easier for we who read replies to posts

When I see 'today' in a CD or any forum post reply, I too often have to search for it buried in other replies. So, I ask you ladies to please post your reply at the END of the series rather than in the middle, somewhere. Exception .. when you are replying to a specific reply. Make sense? Thanks!

I am not sure what you mean? Make no comments until the end?
How will you ever reach the end if you don't add to the comments in your thread?
Not responding kind of makes you seem too good to engage the people posting replies.
So what you are saying is lets change the whole thread process because you don't like having to read the thread?
Why can't the original poster comment thru the course of the thread?
Also there is no way to really know when a thread will end unless a mod closes it then you can't reply.

I agree with Tracii! I reply to my own threads after about 5 people respond or if it has been a while I will reply with less but more as a closing type response! I think that responding that way is the polite thing to do! IMHO Hugs Lana Mae

Would it help if you changed the mode setting under display?

I agree with both Tracii and Lana Mae, on the one hand it is impolite not to reply to somone who has taken the trouble to add your thread either offering advice or support IMHO its rude not to at the very least to say thank you. Another thing how can we judge of our responses are what is needed or if if clarification of a point is needed we get nothing back so YES respond to the threads, I do and concerning my daughter I also sent out PM's thanking those that had posted.

It sounds like you’re under the impression that I can choose where my reply shows up on the thread? Like, I couldn’t make this the #3 post if I wanted to if that’s what you’re implying. It just sticks our posts at the end, then when the next person reply’s theirs goes after mine. If I write something about “today” that’s because it was today when I wrote the post. If you don’t read the post for several days, it’s still going to say “today” and it will be buried in the thread...

    I’m so confused...

Maybe what Jenny sees on her screen is different for some reason.
I think Lana Mae had issues seeing responses to her threads a while back.

Yes that might be the problem. @jenny22 try clicking "display" near the top of the page on the right and select "switch to linear mode" or "switch to hybrid mode" and see if that sorts the replies in a better order for you.

I've been away for a while, came back a few days ago, but already I'm confused, I've seen treads started a long time ago ( so far back, I replied to ones I had replied to a long time ago, and didn't realize it).How do you know where the end is, and whether it ends today or some other day? And if it evoked a question that needs an answer, how do you not reply. Even if it does say today, it shows what day it was posted anyway, so whats the different.

Replies are shown in the order they are posted from oldest, the original post at the top, to the newest post at the bottom and I do not believe there is any way to change that.

Also when a thread shows new posts it does not mean that post was in direct response to the original post or to any of your replies, it just means there has been one or more posts since the last time you were here

Settings; My account; General Settings; Thread display mode; then a pull down choice is displayed.

Whoops! A hornet's nest did I stir up, not meaning to? Sorry! I've switched to another display. Maybe that will help me.

    Jenny,
To save any confusion the simple answer is to say which reply you are refering to ( #** ) . Either that or say who the reply is addressed to at the start of the reply .

I hope I've made sense of your minor rant .
