Where to spend $100.00 on a Friday ?

Is it just me or does it take more to accomplish the same look as last year ?

    We use MAC cosmetics
    Foundation $39.00
    Lip Stick $19.00
    Lip Gloss $17.00
    Contour pallet $39.50

    Total 114.50

Then for the next 2 week I eat tofu for lunch

DON't these vendors understand we need quantity !

Couldn’t possibly be. Our economy is “winning” or haven’t you heard?

Inflation has surpassed any raises or bonuses you may have received since the last election.

Kelly your way above my budget for makeup. You may not care for the cheaper makeup but it fits my needs for now.

Hi Kelly, I use MAC products too, I especially like the foundation. The SA's are always helpful there.

Maybe spend the big bucks on high quality and noticeably superior products like foundations and powders? Then average down on the rest. I have experienced success spending less than $10 on lipstick and gloss.

39 bucks isn't bad for quality foundation, but yeah. 20 bucks for lipstick? I've never spent more than maybe 9. Probably a good thing that, because I have too many.
Still... You just can't put price on pretty. 😀

I had my Halloween makeup done in a salon (which I wasn't all that pleased with). I decided to buy the lipstick in case I had to touch up. $22.00 for freaking lipstick. I call bullshit.

I like to buy decent make up but $114 plus (what's that in proper money ? )for a few bits, wow. I would want all that for half the price.
    Here today, gone tomorrow....

Today is Friday and I spent $250 on new blinds for our sliding doors, after one of the blinds broke. They had to be ordered as they are a custom size. Now I can't buy make-up for 2 months.

$20 for a lipstick is actually on the cheap side for high-end makeup. I've bought plenty that cost more than that, some worth it and some not.

If you read makeup enthusiast makeup blogs like
    https://www.temptalia.com/
    https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com
    http://thebeautylookbook.com/

and others you will see that there is a lot more in the makeup world besides MAC or drugstore brands.

I hit Macy's and buy whats on clearance at the make up areas.
Maybe a color of lipstick thats being dropped for the next year. I have always done that and come out pretty well dollar wise.

Kelly, cement and poly filla from the local DIY store might be cheaper. :-)

Sorry dear, it just needs more of the same and the cost goes up each year.......

I don’t know why y’all are freaking out at $20 for lipstick. That’s pretty average for prestige brands. If all you’ve tried is drugstore, I suggest you treat yourself one day.

11 months ago, we had a lengthy discussion about makeup and its cost. It may be worth reviewing. See below.
