    New hair!

I have ordered a “hair system”, which is a “crown addition”, or a partial wig that will cover male pattern baldness and blend into my real hair. It gets attached with surgical glue, and stays in place for two months at a time. This will be much nicer than wearing full cap wigs all the time.

Today the wig salon I ordered it from said it has arrived! But the specialist who needs to attach it and style it into my hair can’t do my appointment until January 22nd. Arghhh! The salon will put me on a list to slip me in sooner if anyone cancels and a sufficient opening in their schedule appears before then. So I just might, if I am lucky, get my new hair in time for Christmas. But more likely not until after the holidays.

My 2019 goal is to improve my hair. Wigs are REALLY hot in Florida! I wonder if a “crown addition” is hot? I’m exploring various alternatives.

A crown addition is much less hot than a full cap wig, since only the ‘bald patch’ has wig base in contact with scalp. The rest of your scalp is open to the air. They can also attach with wig clips, if your hair loss area is small enough and if you have enough hair on the sides. And since it is your natural hairline below the addition, you can do updo’s and ponytails that do not work as well with full cap wigs.

Of course, as soon as I have it on, I will share pictures!

Really happy for you Ceera that you found a great solution for yourself. I whine sometimes about my face/height etc but I forget how lucky I am that at my age I have my hair. I know many transwomen that struggle with this a lot.

I can tell you are excited and I am excited for you !!!

    That's amazing Ceera!.
I understand you because my own hair is long enough to now e en in male mode some people identify me as a woman. Today I found a Kmart going out of business. It's half empty. Where did I head on the store? Bras and panties. I was on my knees looking in a rack for 38B which is hard to find because more women when are 38 the cup is at least C. So while I was looking, an associste9 shows up to offer me help. She said, can I help you mom, so I put my better femenine viste and stand up. I explained her what I'm looking and I show her what I'm wearing and sport bra. I explained her that I was in my 7th month HRT and my breast is not bug enough yet, So she took me to another racks whit a different ones, 38 B in different styles. Before leaves she said, you look great, I love your hair and I smile because we both feel.some complicity. Own hair helps a lot. It gives you the natural manners.

    Ceera,
That's great news! I'm very happy for you! My dome is also bald on top so I totally understand the need to wear a wig. Paula Young's WhisperLite wigs are pretty comfortable but can be warm during our long hot and humid Tennessee summers. I look forward to seeing how you like your new hair.
