    cross dressing school?

Just wondering if anybody ever tried one of these “schools” like Miss Vera’s Finishing School for Boys who want to be girls for example. Their full program is a little pricy but I swear it’d be like a dream come true it seems. Especially since they take you out on the town.

They have intrigued me for years, the one I attended was right next door to the School Of Hard Knocks. :-)

Most are money driven, but some apparently do provide a genuine and caring service.

I have heard about those. I had a close friend who went to a CD/TS consultant (very expensive) and she got fantastic results. However, she had already been going out into the real world and was comfortable doing that. The consultant fine tuned her presentations, mannerisms, how she walked and talked and sat. So, in my opinion, I believe that you will get more results and better results for your investment if you already have a lot of "street time" experience out in the real world. You are already comfortable with yourself and know what you want as the next steps, even if it is only on the crossdressing side. You do not want to pay big money for someone to hold your hand. You want it where it will give you a better long term end result. Look for someone or a support group close to you and get that basic experience and advice. You may find that you are fine where you are and do not need to spend more to enjoy yourself. Good luck.

At the DLV and WildSide T events in Vegas there r always "big sisters" that volunteer to help the Newbees during those event weeks!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

I have looked at the site and it is intriguing but way too pricey!

Any such school will be costly. People have to make a living after paying expenses. I've thought about going to some sort of crossdressing school but not seriously.

I'm not sure if school is the correct word. More like school like experience.
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
    Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!

Yeah I was using the term school loosely as it sounds cooler than crossdressing training program 😄. It is expensive but who knows maybe like a once in a lifetime thing would be awesome to get away from it all for a bit and have some memories. I can dream I guess.

I believe some makeover / transformation services do offer an option to take you out on the town.
I have not tried it, but here is an example http://www.mychangingroom.com

No thanks, not for me. Anything I couldn’t figure out through google searches and YouTube videos I just bounce off a GG. And as far as going out, I just do that anyway, so I don’t need a chaperone.

Understand there is a fundamental difference between this sort of service and transformation services that offer a one off experience i.e., doll you up, take photos, escort you on the town. Hugs, Michelle

I'll stick to instructional videos on Youtube and spend the money saved on dresses.

I don't know if she still works at Miss Vera's, but I know Miss Shannon. I knew her from way back, from the days at Lee's. She use to hang at the same clubs in NYC that I did. She also performed onstage at these clubs.

To be honest I've thought about it. It is very tempting since you get that a lot of crash courses on almost everything but after giving it a second thought I gotta say I prefer youtube, forums and books :P I rather watch something and replay it as many times as I need or look at some other video that has what I'm looking for, than paying more than $1000 to talk to a bunch of different people that are on a schedule which probably will make it harder for me to grasp all the information they are giving me. Besides, there's the chance of finding a small community near you that welcomes new people and gather together to go out and support each other. I think having real interactions with real people is better in the long run than paying to rush through the day getting all dolled up by people who say what customers want to hear. I hope I don't sound discouraging :S I've dreamed of this as well but it's too much money, at least for me. BUT, if you can afford it and that's what you want to do, you should totally do it! Good luck!

I don't have the money right now anyways but just thought it might be cool one day. It is expensive for sure but the whole experience is why I would want to, online just can't touch real life. I'm trying to control my social anxiety, really makes it hard on my own.

I’ve perused the school website but wonder if it actually goes overboard and exaggerates crossdrssing with too much lace, frills, etc? The students end up looking like fictional rather than real women. That might just be me?

I hope my medical doctor went to an actual school and didn't learn everything he knows on youtube!

If you're serious about crossdressing and passing or if you are transitioning, the money for a good school or training program would be worth it. For casual part time crossdressers, youtube might work. Keep in mind that anyone can put videos on youtube without any qualifications. You can get some really bad advice.

If education is what you're after, YouTube is a wonderful resource for learning how to get your girl on. For cosmetics specifically, vendors like Sephora have an assortment of classes. Any potential customer is more than welcome, and Sephora in particular has reached out to the TG community.
If it's the "girl fantasy camp" experience that you are after though, there's no substitute for the transformation services. Most of those, though, are often not focused on teaching, or charge significantly more for that component.
