When I first began going out in public some 15 years ago my height was the one factor that made me nervous.
Being 5'12" and loving heels I feared that everyone would stare, if for no other reason than the fact that I "stood out" in a crowd. I watched people and over time saw that yes, some would stare, but they also stared at any woman that was taller than "average" and that seemed to be about 5'8". I learned that confidence was my best ally. Standing tall, holding my head up and being confident in my presentation allowed people to stare and then continue with their business without excessively focusing on me.
It also allowed me to go about my business without caring if they looked or not.

Let them look. Be proud of who you are and be confident enough to show you belong where ever it is you are and that will be what they remember.
