Hey y'all! :-) I have a question..... If a straight guy is a crossdresser, is he considered part of the LGBT community? Because in my case, I don't identify as being gay, bisexual or transgender, (I'm sure some others here as well).

I am an individual that cannot be put into a box, or "community". I am me. You are an individual, who does not need to be anything else. Group think stinks to me.
It’s up to you! A lot of people consider CDs to fall under the trans umbrella. A name put on you is a label, but a name you choose is an identity. I’m not sure why Alice thinks community is the same as conformity. Most communities I know are wildly diverse. A community is just people with something in common. SOMEthing. Not everything. Unless it’s the thought of showing respect and listening to other members of that community that you find repugnant?
Kimberly, I think now days it does fit under the umbrella, but many years ago I came out to a gay friend of mine and he said he couldn't understand a straight man that wanted to wear womens clothing. I never told him I was bi, he might have thought I was a traitor. But he was accepting, and gave me a place to hide when I needed some Tammy time off ship.
One of the only men i have told, is a gay, and he also does not get why a man would want to dress up as a woman. We each are similar but different.
I agree that it's for you to decide.
I'm just a straight guy who prefers to wear panties, bras and stockings as often as I can.
This is a great and timely question as I've been wondering about this as well. I'm a straight CD but have come to realize that I do consider transgender. I would like to spend much more time presenting as female but have no desire to fully transition. It really isn't a simple question.
I would say you are a CDer and thats it.
90% of CDers are straight married men.
You don't have to align yourself with the LGBT if you choose not to.
I'm trans and gay and I don't like much about the LGBT as it is now.
My thought is that if you are a CD’er then yes you are somewhere on the LGBT spectrum. We all are there, like it or not, some more and some less but we are in the same boat.

In my opinion, to answer Kimberly's question.... I consider anyone from the casual crossdresser, to gay, bisexual, trans, questioning, , ect, ect...and whatever silly labels they want to put on it now, all part of the LGBTQ and XYZ community , that being said....Forget Labels, just be yourself!....Are you married, single, dating?....Be honest with your significant other if so
I have benefited from the kindness and wisdom of several gay men over the years, both in my education and my working career. so I am happy to support them in any way I can in terms of a community identity. In addition, I feel that we are lumped together with them by the vanilla community anyway, so why not own it. Politically it is in our interest.
So, yes I am proud to claim membership in the LGBTQ+ community.
I am a vessel of the goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.
I consider myself a human being and it pisses me off when my fellow humans are considered lowly or immoral because of what they, chose to wear or who they chose to love. I would consider this far more important than how others choose to classify anyone. LGBT is basically a tool for brokering political power and is otherwise meqningless.
ALWAYS plan for the worst, then you can be pleasantly surprised if something else happens!
