    School girl error

Today I went out enfemme. Drove to the station, parked and bought my ticket. Train was running 15 minutes late so stood on a cold draughty platform. Train arrives and forty minutes later I'm stood in the cold waiting for the bus to take me on the next leg of my journey. After 10 minutes bus arrives and 15-20 minutes later I arrive at my destination, Chesire Oaks shopping centre.

By now I needed the ladies. The bus stopped about a 200m walk into a big M&S. Time to find the ladies which of course was upstairs. Straight in no messing about, did what needed to be done, arrrr sweeet blessed relief, straightened myself, washed hands and headed out to find the cafe.

As I exited the ladies I heard a ladies voice say, "Excuse me dear". I turned around to look and she then said, "Your skirts tucked in at the back". Yep, skirt in knickers and just about to walk through a busy M&S. I did of course say a heartfelt thankyou to my savior.

    Helen,
How wonderful the lady spoke to you as another lady who was about to make the cardinal sin . Maybe it's one reason that more women wear trousers .

I know my wife , daughter , sister in law , mother inlaw have all made this mistake . My mother in law decided to go one better when she joined us in a family holiday , she was having a lovely swim in the pool and playing with the grandchildren , she was scooping them and and twirling them round in doing so she had scooped the neckline of her swim suit revealing most of her top half , I'd never seen her duck her head under water before but she disappeared to the bottom of the pool to recover her dignity !!

So glad she said something. It happens but not everyone is kind enough to give a heads up.

Well, well Helen, can see Cheshire Oaks from our hilltop just over the border in Wales. FYI, the sa's in M&S along the coast at their Prestatyn branch are very CD friendly. They invited themselves along to our group in Llandudno (uniquetg.org.uk) bringing several boxes of goodies for us to look at / try on / buy. If you travel by train, it's just a couple of minutes walk over the railway bridge from the station. If by car, you can usually park outside.
Next meeting this Thursday at the earlier time of 7pm - N Wales Police LBGT unit giving a talk.

Ha ha. They're so nice. I was leaving the Ladies in a local pub recently when I hear *several* women behind me telling someone to stop, no, no, stop, wait, and I thought uh oh that's me, what's this now? I had toilet paper stuck to my shoe

Something like that happen to me years ago while out with some girls here. But the back of my skirt got soaked. We were going out to do more after leaving the restaurant. Lucky there was a dress store down the street. Went in found a new skirt changed and went on our way to the casino.

When i was in China last June there were 3 Chinese ladies standing in a group chatting and I noticed that the middle lady had her dress caught up in her knickers at the back, so I discretely told her by hand gestures and they all laughed and thanked me. I don't know if they understood English but they got the message and she fixed it quick smart.

At a conference a few years ago I saw a GG whose skirt looked odd. Finally realized the zipper was in front, not back. Told a lady I knew so she could discretely pass the word. Senior moments happen at any age!

    LucyDarlene,
Yep been there and done that one !

I have some denim skirts that fasten at the front and some at the back , I'd just arrived home after a busy supermarket visit and nipped to the toilet I went to adjust my skirt , OH NO ! the one I had on was obvioulsy a front fastening skirt and I'd just been round the supermarket wearing it the wrong way round .

I bought the cold shoulder dress in my avatar and when I tried it on in the shop I had the lower part of the sleeve under my arms not over , it actually didn't look too bad , the problem was I'd asked a GG for her opinion in the changing area , she said it looked great !!

Ha ha. It's happened to me a couple of times.
I think it's like a right of passage.
For me, after getting over the embarrassment, it felt good that something happened to me,
which happens to women all the time.

Women are good for looking after each other like that. I've had a few similar experiences now. On one night out a GG friend said hang on a second and started fixing my fringe (bangs). I said something about stupid bloody wig and she looked confused for a second and said oh - no that's not it, your hair was messy so I'm fixing it for you, it's just a thing we do.

    Eemz,

It's a good point. If you person watch women are more tactile with each other. They don't ask permission of a friend to fix something, it's hold still while I put you right, so now you're good to go. It also manifests itself in how we're able to have those little conversations with complete strangers while standing in a bus queue or at the checkout.

As for the skirt in the knickers thing, you'd think I'd learn. I wore a new skirt (?13 from Primark) yesterday, 3/4 length with a loose lining. Went to the loo, checked skirt wasn't caught up, all good, but it was only when I sat down in the train waiting room I felt something wasn't right. Skirt was fine, it was the lining stuck in the back of my knickers. More learning.

This is one of the things about going out dressed. It's a learning curve. Dressing out in the real world is a whole different ball game.We have to learn by these experiences just what women have learned throughout their lives. If a little embarrassment is the price then for me it's one worth paying.
