    Best Time in a Motel/Hotel

I am curious about something. Can you think of a time you dressed at a motel or hotel where something unexpected happened and it just made you feel so wonderful? (Nothing sexual, of course).

Perhaps you were outside having a smoke and you got a complement from a GG? Maybe you ran into another dresser that you had never met before and got to hang out with them? Maybe someone from another room invited you to hang out with them and just chat to keep you from being lonely?

    Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller???

About 14 years ago I was dressed and having a drink in the lounge in a hotel in Atlanta. It was fairly crowded and I was sitting at the bar next to a well-dressed woman who was a buyer for some store. On the other side of her was some guy who kept trying to make time with her, but wasn't having any luck. The woman and I somehow got into a conversation about pantyhose. She was unhappy with the feel of the pair she was wearing and invited me to feel her leg (on the calf). I did and told her mine were much smoother, so she felt mine. The guy on the other side watched this and soon jumped into the conversation with "I wore a dress one time. It was in a womanless beauty pageant......" I guess the guy figured if you can't beat them you better join them.

I do not smoke. But I have enjoyed going to restaurants and bars in hotels. Mostly these have not been all that memorable, just pleasant opportunities to be out in and among people.

That's a good one, Phoebe. I was outside for smoke one time and a GG was checking in and struck up a conversation with me. She had questions, and I was happy to answer them. One of the questions always seems to be "how did you get started." Well, I always tell people that it started with pantyhose, that they were my "gateway drug" to everything else. She laughed and said she couldn't stand them. I told her mine were very nice and that I ordered them online. She reached down to feel my calf and agreed that they were nice. We talked a little more, then she finished moving her luggage to her room.

I’m curious as to why so specifically “at a hotel”? A lot of those interactions seems like they could happen anywhere.

Last year I was dressed and in the casino at the Flamingo in Las Vegas for DLV) playing the slots. A young lady in her twenties sat down at the machine to my left, and we began to talk. She knew I was a guy, and our conversation zeroed in on crossdressing. It was fun to show and tell, so to speak.

We don't hang around the hotel much when we travel, it's more of a base of operations. But I guess there was the one time my wife and I were staying in our timeshare in Hawaii for a week so we had some down time. Anyway one night I went out to the smoking area to vape some cannabis oil I smuggled along... I was wearing girly shorts, tank top, a bra, and you could see my bra straps showing with it being a tank top. I was just about to start vaping and a GG comes walking up, carrying a drink and a pack of cigarettes. We said hi to each other, as she lit up her smoke I took a hit off my vape and she was like "Hey, I know what that is, I'm from California...". I offered her some, we sat there and talked a bit. I invited her over to our condo, and we partied on our patio all night. She was a lot of fun and never said anything about it or even asked why I was wearing a bra.

Of course, due to COVID, many of our usual events and venues have been closed. It feels especially strict here in Pennsylvania. For me at least, my only outlet is to simply dress at a local motel and go nowhere. Might not sound like fun to many, but to me, it's nice to have the peace and quiet. Oddly enough, though, I like to be seen by GG's. I don't speak to them unless spoken to (unless I see a cute dress or shoes and simply must provide a complement.) I don't intrude on anyone's privacy or space. I just like to be seen by GG's.

I had thought that perhaps some of us had interesting or fun encounters with cisgendered folks while dressed at a motel or hotel, whether dressing there for an event or for just themselves. Again, sexual encounters excluded in my query.

This was not exactly in a hotel, but was more or less while we were traveling between them. A couple years ago during Halloween my wife and I were in Vegas to hit up a party at the Red Rock casino. We were staying at the Aria, got dressed in our costumes there and got an Uber to take us the 30 minute or so trip to Red Rock. When we arrived the driver got out for some reason and I said something along the lines of thanks for the ride( which was the first time I had spoke directly to him) and he semi freaked out for a second because of my guy voice, then preceded to tell us he thought I was a woman the whole time till then. The wife and I laughed, maybe I need to work on my voice some lol.

I have countless stories about things that have happened in motel/hotel bars, clubs, restaurants, events, and grounds. But, not many that occurred IN the rooms!

I DID leave a drawer full of expensive shape wear and custom made arm covers in a drawer in a hotel. I was sure they were discarded by the maid. But, when I called their lost and found? They had them and mailed them to me for $25!

For me, that how I will always get dressed, is in a hotel on business trips. I've only recently started going out dressed and so far I can tell you all the hotels I've been to the staff has been wonderful. The lady at the guest desk was delightful and complimented my outfit. But, I've never struck up a random conversation or has much other interaction other than that. But, I've only done this twice so far. Both trips were 2 day, 3 night weekday trips at relatively nice hotels.

A number of times I have been returning to my hotel from a night out clubbing, and i asked the GG at the front desk to take a pic of me using my phone. That ends up being a super easy ice breaker to talk about my crossdressing and I have had some wonderful conversations. Granted we are talking like 2 to 3 in the morning so it is quiet and they are probably bored anyhow. So far all positive experiences but I usually just wave on my way in if it is a guy working the front desk. Haha. I just find it more interesting talking to women about it, but I really have no idea why I feel that way.

    LauraJade,
There are so many little stories I could tell of incidents in a hotel situation , all help to build confidence .

On one occasion I sat in a lounge area before my social meeting , I was enjoying a cup of tea and reading the local newspaper when a couple walked by on the way to the restrooms . I heard the wife say to the husband , " Did you see that ?" He asked " See what ?" She replied , " That CDer " . He repiled , " Your wrong that was a woman ". On the way back they glanced over again and I heard her say , " I told you so !" So he replied , " I'm telling you you're wrong !" A few moments later I heard the wife say she would like to read a copy of the local paper , I had the only copy so I stood up and walked over and said to the wife , " would you like the local paper ? " The look on their faces was priceless , I'm sure I still left them confused , Oh well it gave them something to talk about over dinner .

I had been trying to be courteous to the moderators and users of the forum. I am sure that the intention of the forum is nothing of a pornographic nature, so I wanted to be sure to specify nothing sexual. That's all.

There is a Marriott hotel in a neighboring town that hosts several events each year. They are not specific to any group and are open to everyone. There is always a Halloween Party, Little Black Dress party, Adult Prom, Spring Fling, Summer Solstice, and of course, New Year's Eve. They are events where everyone can dress as fancy as they like and admission is free (with the exception of New Years Eve and the Halloween Party which is $10 admission). I think the hotel makes money because many people come from far away and stay at the hotel after the events. Drinks are also on the expensive side. We love it because otherwise, there are not many places where a long, sequin dress is the norm. It gives us both a chance to wear our fanciest clothes and not look out of place.

One year, another hotel (same town) had a radio station host a "Bridesmaid's Ball". Everyone was to dress as a bridesmaid. There was, of course, a mock wedding. Lots of games and dancing. That was a blast. My hubby wore a great gown and ended up winning several of the games including the bouquet toss! He loved it.

Obviously everything was cancelled this year but hopefully, next year the events will be able to start again.

So not all action goes on in the "bedrooms" of the hotels. If you check around, you may find some other events that are open to the public.

    Connie,

Grand Rapids, Michigan at the JW Marriott. This year is basically cancelled (like everything else) but pasts years have been great. I think the events are listed under "Signature Events" and put in the hotel name. (The events don't come up if you just put the hotel name).

Earlier this year before covid19 I went to Moncton New Brunswick Canada on a shopping trip for a couple of days. Planned the trip to go 4 days femme I left Halifax Nova Scotia got to the hotel and booked in as Stephanie. the staff at the reception were great and we chatted for a while. The next 2 days spent shopping even went to the mall had dinner out. At one point talked to the man at the reception for about half an hour as he was going to Calgary and I mentioned I had lived there so was giving him some tips about the city. The real surprise was one morning all dressed up to go shopping I was waiting for the elevator and a couple joins me waiting for the elevator. When it came the lady got on and the gentleman stood there while he let me on I thanked him and then he got on after me. Got no strange looks as we rode the elevator and he let me off before him. The whole trip made feel great to know that I actually passed for 4 days as female with no strange looks or comments. Since then I now go out and shopping with confidence and no worries of what the world thinks of me .

I have gone out and intentionally mingled with the masses outside of Halloween. Back in 1992 I had the opportunity of staying for business at a Marriott Residence Inn which had a kitchenette, dining area and spacious living area. I was staying from Sunday night to check out Friday morning before work. It was great. I was able to hang my dresses I packed for the trip and also my ankle length nightgowns. At my level of development at the time it was great. The only thing better was much later when our kids were gtown and out of the house and my wife went on trips to visit family and friends for seven to ten days. I still would not feel comfortable interacting with the public.

I belong to Chi Chapter here in the burbs of NW Illinois and we have our GNO's (Girls Night Out) at the Hilton Convention center bar called Foxes Sports Bar, inside the hotel.
Well, a few girls came over and started chatting with us...turns out they were celebrity mothers from the Discovery channels TV show "Cheer Perfection!"
We all were very excited and many of us knew these celebrities from watching the show...so it was a memorable and epic night!

Other times we meet people from other countries here for business where TG people are more accepted.
Besides the convention center, I get out when I can, shopping, dining, and running errands all over.
Most often I meet curious women who start a conversation about liking my perfume, my outfit, or a question where I bought this of that. For me, it is ALWAYS a thrill for me to interact with women out in public.
It empowers me to know I am not merely presenting as a guy in drag, but respecting women by presenting and acting as any respectable lady would.
They understand the time it took me and it shows how I personally take my presentation seriously.
The respect I recieve is usually given back 10 fold, and makes me feel so special!

No explanation is necessary. I was just making the point that all my best hotel/motel memories are of the variety that shall not be mentioned here. That is all.

My best memories are when I was going from my car to the hotel entrance and group of guys walking by whistled (felt good for the attention but kind of creepy for what I thought might be the why), the time a group of flight attendants got on my elevator and just looked and said hello and the day I was in the elevator and a woman got on mid way down and complemented my hair.
