    Only if they knew.

I have been on this site for a couple of years and often wondered how many other girls like myself are women of law enforcement.

The word Blue has been bandied around a lot recently.

Could you please clarify your meaning? Thanks.

Women in blue I'm sure refers to police officers.
CD'ers come from all walks of life. One member here I'm sure is an attorney, there are probably a few doctors, there was one who was a hotel desk clerk, I had a lower-level government job.

    Hey, nvlady.

That's what I thought as well, but wouldn't want to jump to conclusions, which is why some of us asked the OP to clafify.

And point of fact; just like there are a lot of different occupations presented here, there are lots of different nationalities as well and slang does vary by region. Taking that into account would go a long way to minimize conjecture and confusion.

For any of us, living this life and can help us appreciate the struggles of others. In your particular profession, Cassie, would you say that it has affected your outlook at all? That is, do you think your dressing helps make you a better officer in any way?

    Cassiek,
Being TG doesn't restrict your occupation , as many others have proved on this forum .

In the past when I or others have posted threads asking who's been in the service, Cassie? The number of former and current service men/women here is enormous!

Sister in Blue here! I'm glad you asked, I've always been curious as well.

Good news - I'm happy to say that my boss is aware of Kim and it has never been an issue. I accidentally outed myself in conversation one day and it went well. I suspect a couple of others have figured it out as well and it hasn't been a problem there either.

Bad news - There are others I work with, sometimes closely, for whom it would be a problem. I'm not sure how it would go if they found out.
Fortunately we have some good policies and support systems that would make things much easier if they ever cause problems.

I'm not 100% sure if my female side makes me a better officer but I suspect so. It certainly helps me understand those I encounter who have been stigmatized or marginalized.

I was in law enforcement but only did 4 1/2 years on the "front line" before my photographic knowledge scooped me up, no body knew of my need to dress back then, (1973 to 1996) things were different then! and I dont think I would have had the career I that I did have had it been known then.

As someone with a PhD in personal hangups, it makes a lot of sense to me that there would be many LEO gurls. All closeted, of course.

Appreciate this conversation that in one way grounds the experience. It is easy to focus on dressing without recognition I'm not alone with this. Of course, I've always been fully closeted so I've never met any sisters. As mentioned, we will be found in any profession. I wasn't in law enforcement by was a manager in a public agency. I never dressed at work but certainly did plenty of "acting out" away from the office. Thanks for the question Cassiek.
