    Times have changed!

When I first dressed it was forced on me. But I very quickly found I liked the pleasure it afforded. As I grew the pleasure built so that I seemed unable to stop. Around the age of 10 I was now dressing fully as often as I could. At age 17 I left home and joined the service in hopes the strict male environment would "cure" me of the need to dress. Of course it didn't as after boot I quickly picked up right where I had quit. But now I had new issues to face. Discovery of my secret activity would cause me to lose my position. And if caught while dressed I could be thrown in jail as dressing at the time was illegal! But I was unable to stop it seemed to me. So I learned to be careful of any give ways. I was able to survive over 20 years active service with a spotless r

Check her bio page. She is 82. Yes, way back then, if there was any hint of homosexuality or cross dressing you'd be out the door. There was no tolerance for the antics of Corporal Klinger. If a man or a woman was discharged for homosexual offenses his or her DD 214 would reflect the reason for discharge through "Separation Program Numbers." Any employment office/human resources would know the reason of any discharge. At the time not many service men and women were aware of the SPN's being used to brand a person for life. Yes, times have changed for homosexuals, but, I am not too sure for transgender men and women, and, cross dressers.

It seems that over the past several years, things have gone backwards for transgender people serving in the US Military. I can think of at least one or two members here who were open about their gender identity a few years ago, and had enjoyed the support of the senior military leadership. I wonder what has happened to them since the tide reversed.

I can't speak to the military, but I think American society in general has backtracked a few steps over the last few years for basically any type of non-conformity. Not sure what caused the shift, nor am I positive it will ever get back to where it was prior.

I believe it's politics and religion, Val. But, we r NOT allowed to discuss those topics! So, I won't.
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

    Thank you for your service.

I did one tour, it was enough for me. It was the 70s, if you got caught, you would be discharged.

I don't think things have changed. I still have my friends, go out where allowed, but as far as dressing there's no change.

But I guess it depends on your reference, if it is way back. Than yes times have changed.

I disagree, and actually believe it's the over the top need to label everything under the sun, and then align it with LGBTQ so it's protected. You can be as absurd as you want, but if you get it under that banner you're golden, and people don't like it because change is scary.

I was always worried my alternative clothes would be found during a routine or surprise barrack inspection, in the 80's same situation still applied (military prison or out the door)
