    HRT - Three Months In

Had my first follow-up consultation with my caregiver yesterday. Labs came back with estradiol right in the target range, and with my T level at 12 ng/dL! Yes, twelve, with no suppressors, just the E. My T has been on the low side for years (low 200's) but I am delighted to know that I may not need to add a T suppressor to my regimen.
T'was meant to be, I guess.

    Wow! That’s awesome.
I’ve come across a study... maybe two that conclusion was estrogen mono therapy, even at low doses if I remember right can suppress T-levels into female range.

I’m currently on a really low dose of my anti androgen but am curious about not taking it. My T-levels dropped really while on it... like too low.

Good to hear it’s working as it should.

My anecdotal evidence is just that, but the labs don't lie. Lots of variables to consider though, like age, dose, route of administration, etc. From what I understand, those two values can fluctuate throughout the week, between injections (for those using that route). Anyway, I'll take it!

My last T was 20 ng/dL on Estrodial IM injection alone* few hours before my next injection. My starting T prior to HRT was 464 ng/dL. The key was switching from patches to injections. For me, patches didn't work well.
(* I do take micronized progesterone twice a day but that hasn't affected my T levels much).

Congratulations! I've started transitioning at 67 and my endocrinologist looked at my starting labs and went WOW! MY STARTING T was 943, where it should be if I was in my 20s or 30s. The screwy thing is I'm not hairy or very masculine (if at all). My next test was about half that. Looking forward to my next one next week.
