    Most Ridiculous Thing You've Bought

There are so many things I've wished I'd skipped out on -- but I think my $200 breast plate was probably the worst. I had the pink fog and thought it was the perfect time for them, but you know what happens. They were too big to wear in public, and they didn't match my skin color. Big disappointment.

Hah! The first breast plate I bought was supposed to be a C and they sent me a DD. I wore it a few times in public and looked like a porn star w low cut tops. Eventually, I got a C size and it looked proportional. I have been known to take the DD out of retirement on occasion, but mostly for private exhibition.

That's what this thing looks like! I've put it on under the normal stuff I go out in... but it's too much. I'm already too tall. These boobs are just horrible.

If they are filled with silicone, then you are stuck with how they look. If they have the fiber fill, you can perform surgery on them from the inside to reduce the volume.

Yeah, I'd say a breast plate was the most ridiculous thing I've bought as well..... The thing was too hot for me to wear, I only wore it for like, a couple of hours once at home and I sweated SO much under it, when I took it off, it was like Niagara Falls coming off of me! ROFL It wasn't THAT expensive, I got it from Wish so it was like, less than $50 if memory serves, but it was still a big waste of money.... I wound up trashing the thing.

The breast size on it was OK, but like y'all, it didn't match my skin color either. I'll stick with my breast forms. LOL

The trick to wearing a breast plate for any extended period of time, especially in warm weather, is to get an old tshirt and cut it down to size so that you wear it between the plate and your skin without it showing along the edges. It will absorbe considerable perspiration and keep your skin free of irritation. Wearing a breast plate in the winter is like wearing a coat. You can literally wear a skimpy outfit in 30-45 degree weather and be comfortable.

At one time I owned over 40 wigs... kind of crazy looking back on that time!

I bought a brand name wig on eBay once which was one of my favorite brands. I couldn’t believe my luck at finding a quality wig for around 10 dollars. Then it arrived. Right out of the box it looked like I had a nest of rats on my head with their extra-long tails hanging down. I did my best to fix it, and spent a lot of time with it. By the time I got done it looked like a three-foot blonde Afro with the top half chopped off. I shipped it off to a place where it would be right at home. The local landfill.

I am not sure why you girls don't like breast plates. I love mine! Although I never venture out of the house. I have had one for just a few weeks and have many hours wearing it. Last Saturday from the time I got up, until I went to bed, 16+ hours.

I have to admit, it is the most ridiculous thing I have bought, at least CD related.

Like Monica, I put a layer of fabric that breathes between my chest and the silicone form. I use a wash cloth or towel in a color close to my chest skin color, cut so it fits behind the form without its edges showing. It will fray over time and wear, and more quickly in the laundry. If you know how to sew, you can stabilize the edges to deal with the fraying.

I went the "water balloon" route in my bras for ages then finally jumped into the silicone form arena. I stayed away from the CD shops and only went with "official" sites used by women. I ordered the forms with covers and mastectomy bras and went on from there. At $ 300 dollars for the forms it was a bit pricy but totally worth it to me. The worst thing I have ever bought? I got a white satin original back lace corset I had always wanted. I soon learned these are NOT fun or exciting to wear, at least for me anyway. I did get some waist reduction but no way could I lace up and wear all day. Total waste of money for me. But just another learning curve moment.

No matter which "hobby" you follow, think it over---you get into stereo gear, satellite gear, video gear, painting, photography, classic cars or anything else you must always realize that no matter what you like to do there is always someone or something out there that will be more than happy to take your money. My CD hobby over the years has been pricy as well, I could have bought a nice new car or started a nice downpayment on a house for what I have spent over time. But then again, it's the cost of a hobby.

Breast forms that were way to big. Followed the size chart but didn’t allow for the chest tissue I already have. Had to buy 48D bras to fit the forms and it was just to BIG.
    2. Cheap corset didn?t fit well.

I would say it was a 2018 Volvo S60. New, paid way too much and sold it 1 year later at a considerable loss.
Best was a Lexus LS 460 for $10,000. I drove it for 2 years, sold it and got every penny back out of it.

I know this is not CD related but that really was not the question was it?

Can't think of anything really ridiculous... Last week I bought magnetic eyelashes for $7. It was an impulse buy at a wig store. After opening the package I read the instructions: "must be used with magnetic eyeliner...".

I did a search for magnetic eyeliner only to find that it's difficult to remove! The wig store took them back and gave me store credit. I thought I was getting eyelashes that would be quick and easy to put on and take off. Nope!

Like others I've wasted a lot of money on cheap wigs that looked absurd on my head, but my all-time fiasco was as follows: I wear a misses size 16 or 18, depending on the cut of the dress. But I got the bright idea that I wanted see what I'd look like with enormous boobs. I went to a very upscale department store and bought a women's size 24 formal gown. When I tried it on at home, I was swimming in it. Fortunately I hadn't taken the tags off, and I was able to return it.

I too have to go with on-line wig purchases. Thankfully they weren't expensive but that's also been true of wigs that have turned out to be just wonderful and I've worn them out and about numerous times.

And as for Volvo S60's. I have one now 20 years old, bought at 3 years old for 1/3 the new price, still looks good, still goes like stink, stops just as quickly and still one of the most comfortable driver friendly cars I've ever driven. Those Scandinavians know a thing or two about good design.

Enjoyed reading this thread. Alas I can't think of anything I have bought, as a result of the pink fog, that was daft.

Probably a pair of 5 inch stiletto heals. I am never going to wear them, but they were cheap and they fit so I couldn't pass them up.

Exclamation Funny!? My 1st breast plate was my BEST PURCHASE ever!

All those low cut, crop tops, and dresses I bought over the years because they looked so sexy, but I couldn't wear with forms!

Then, I bought my realistic plate with a full neck. So, matching my skin is NO ISSUE! Now, I can wear all those pieces I collected and I sport cleavage down to my navel!

It has been my go to prothesis for over 8 years! Everyone thinks I've had augmentation surgery. Even if I'm talking with them in person! Some times they have to touch it before they believe it's not real!

    Hi Laurie,
There are so many silly purchases, especially when the pink fig hits.
3 1/2 inch high heel strappy sandals that were a half size too big. I knew this when I bought them, but they were the last ones left. I am wearing them in my profile picture.
Skirts that were way too short. Way too many, never wore them out of the house.
    Barista bar maid costume
My first corset that I completely blew out when I pulled to tight the first time I laced it up.
Just to name a few. LOL too much fun. Thank you

I bought a pair of 5" black heels before I realized how high that was.
