Not happy with attitude of my medical team or capability of testing lab.😢

I am growing very frustrated with the ability for me to get an accurate oestrogen blood test...and with the attitude of those medicating me.
I live in a relatively low population state and the availability of endocrinologist or doctors is not large ...especially those that specialise in trans health.

I started off on Sandrena and proganova...with Androcles as a blocker my levels were just under 200 for oestrogen and .5 for testosterone
About 2 years ago I got a 6 month implant...it worked super well...too well for my wife and I came off the implant and back into the original dose however 18 months after the implant should have failed I am posting ridiculous high e levels 1339 was my most recent....

I just don?t believe they are accurate... I have noticed some changes that possibly indicate my levels have dropped right down...slightly more hair growth on body etc.....but in the 9 test I have had in the last 18 months my levels have dropped to as low as 299 before going back to 1300+... on exactly the same meds...
Doc and Endo have told me the results are wrong and they will clinically medicate me...and not to get more test... but I want to know where my true levels are and feel frustrated they are so quick to ignore blood test results...
P.s I have used both testing clinics in state with same results....
    Anyone else experiencing this
I fast 10-12 hrs before test and leave approx 15-16 hrs since last meds to avoid contamination if results

Unless you can send blood to an out of state lab, you might get your doctor to try the following. On the day of testing, draw two samples and send one each to each lab. Compare the results. If there is a third lab, draw three samples then compare the closest two results. Because of the diurnal variations in hormone levels, the impact of food eaten around the time meds are taken, stress impacting your own hormone secretions, and probably the phase of the moon , hormone levels will be quite variable. Then there is variability in hormone receptors in each person. Perhaps you see why you get a little frustrated. The important endpoint is your clinical outcome. Think of hormone levels as advisory and not gospel.

    Hiya -

Sorry your labs are frustrating you. I have been on implants for about 2 years now. The last 6 month cycle we tested my levels at the start of every month. I wanted to get more accurate data on what was happening with the estrogen within my system. What we observed was fluctuations within my levels. Not major changes for me and my levels, but for some a wing of 100 or 200 pg/ml would be a significant swing. What my dr and I discussed is that with pellet implants there can be shifting of the pellets that allow more or less estrogen to be released. As well, that the pellets will overlap each other so that we can get my levels higher than they would be otherwise. All to say, estrogen pellets can stay active and variable within your system for quite some time.

    Hi Jessica,
Not sure it estradiol IM injections are the option for you or not. I have been doing them for 21 months (every 5 days), and they are very predictable. I test my troughs at the end of the 5th day and they are around 180pg/ml. Moreover, injection keep my testerone around 20 ng/dL (at the end of 5 day cycle) without any blockers (as tested per Mayo Clinic) interestingly, my local test lab usually comes back with testosterone around 48 ng/dL for the same blood draw. Either way, under 50 ng/dL is good as a top number over the cycle.
