My first time out in public

So I have been consumed lately with getting up the courage to go out dressed in public. I;m a 60 year of crossdresser, and never have been in public dressed (except for a quick run to and from my car a few years ago). I recently have been listening to crossdressing podcasts, reading Savannah Hauk’s books on crossdressing and realizing I need to validate myself by going out dressed and being seen by others. So, while traveling this week I brought a selection of clothes. I checked into my hotel and changed into black jeggins, wedge sandles, red tank top and my blonde wig and makeup. Once dressed I stared at the hotel door and walked toward it, took a deep breath and walked out the door to my rental car. My plan was to go to a local outlet mall and go to the Hanes factory store (with Bali, maidenform, etc.) I drove there feeling very femme and sexy and when I pulled up, it was 8:00 pm. The store was closing…Ugh!!!. So, not to be defeated I searched for a Macy’s on my phone and found one 15 miles away that was still opened. I drove there and drove around each of its three entrances (was a local mall) looking to see which one was nearer too Macy?s women?s section. Once I selected my entrance, I again took a deep breath, grabbed my purse and opened the car door. My walk to the entrance was a little wobbly (had practiced with the heels but not enough), but I slowed my pace, straightened my posture and took small steps. I opened the door and looked around (I was looking for lingerie) and saw none and realized, oh god, I have to walk across the store!. So I began strutting..swinging my hips a little more with each stride. Finally I spotted the “intimates” section that seemed to be a mile away..

Once i got to that section my heart was pounding and I could feel my chest rising and falling with each breath. But there was a huge satisfying smile on my face. It was late and the store only had a few other women walking around and none seemed to notice me. So I walked through every bra rack..looking at each, holding them up..until i picked two I liked. Then I moved on to panties and did the same, choosing two cute pairs. IN all, I spent about 20 minutes in heaven, shopping as Brandy.

Now, I needed to cross the final barrier of paying for my lingerie and checking out. I looked across the store and saw the cashier’s station and saw a small line there waiting. Should I just lurk around until the line goes down, or go stand in line? I again chose to face my fears and went and stood in line. No one seemed to care or pay attention (again confirming what I have heard in most of the crossdressing podcasts and books). When it was my turn to check out the cashier (her name was Noreen) did everything she could to make me feel comfortable. She talked about how I picked out such cute items, that I might want to consider another bra she directed me to, and told me to come back for the holiday sale (memorial day). I think I responded coherently, but really can’t attest that I did..I just smiled brightly!.

Finally I completed the transaction and strutted out the door..happy in my girl form, proud of this ultimate achievement.

Now I’m ready for the next step! This is me back in the hotel with my purchases!!!!Notification_Center.jpg

Very well done! I did my first outing today, but nothing as daring as yours. Good job overcoming your fears. Strangely, maybe because of the isolated setting I chose, I felt strangely calm getting out of my vehicle. I did check myself in the reflection of the truck windows and the reflection looking back at me felt so feminine that I didn't really feel self conscious at all. You did so well, though! I can't see myself having the confidence to go out like you did. Excellent! BTW, you look wonderful!

    Brandy, CONGRATS!!

I've only worked up to walking into Macy's or Kohls a few times but my only purchase as Jamie was at a Walmart at midnight (just glad I didn't end up in those "people of Walmart" combos!), bought some bras and panties, too cliche?

What a lovely story Brandy. So glad your experience was good. Be aware there are most likely more enfemme outings in your future. I know how difficult it is to overcome those fears you described. Being out enfemme always have been my scariest and most thrilling adventures. Best wishes.

Oh my gosh you are my heroine! That was in my mind a brave thing to do. I am SO glad it went well and you had the time of your life. BTW you look really cute. Sort of look like the girl from Big Bang Theory.

Oh wow! That is some story Brandy! I wish I had the courage to do what you did, although I would only do it with other crossdressers or women accompanying me.
I recently went out dressed up en femme for the first time, but it was at a ren fen, so I'm not sure that counts. Also I did not arrive dressed up, I bought an outfit. I would eventually like so much to be able to do what you did, that would mean so much to me.

Congratulations Brandy. My first time out without a GG escort was interesting too. I Dressed out in a black knee-length shirt, and a gray knitted sweater, full makeup and a wig. It was a Sunday. I went to a bank parking lot and shot some 20 photos. Then Drove to my local Staples and walked in, chatted with the Sales Reps and Tech Reps that I normally deal with as a male for over an hour.
I then Drove over to Kohl's. They were closed, so I just took a dozen photos of me with the store front in the background. Then I drove home. Came in and processed my photos.
Y'all just keep your pretty self a going out in public. Ya hear Now? No Back Trackin' or we might sick the crossdressin' fashion police on ya!

    Congrats Brandy! You looked GREAT!
I used to have huge anxiety shopping as a man and checking out.....until one day a cashier said "awww I wish my husband bought me cute things like you do for your wife" Since then I haven't had anxiety clothing shopping as a man. Before that it was Amazon, and WalMart/Target self checkouts.
The other day I left my make-up on to walk the dogs(first step)....I wasn't too anxious...... How many people would get close enough to see my make-up while I'm walking a 130lb Rottweiler and 65lb Pit Bull mix? Usually they cross the street as soon as they see us approaching.

Thank you Sissie .Love this post.I relived all your emotions while reading it.I can remember having to talk myself down when a bout of panic would set in and tell myself to just settle down and slow down .
If I knew where it was going to take me I probably would have put my mother's panties back.

You will remember this outing in a few years and wonder what you were so worried about. I know I do. Get out and enjoy.

I love that story. At times I am brave as a lion other times I am a big chicken. But actually going shopping and buying fem clothes is fantastic. You are not a weirdo guy looking through bra's and panties. You are another woman just shopping.
    Good for you.

PS you look great in the photo.

    Brandy,

So pleased for you. getting that first outing under your garter is the hardest thing to do. As others have said, it is a genie that won't go back in the bottle so you're in for lots more fun times.

Your thread had me at the local JC Penny store for the Memorial Day Sales event. Picked up a pair of girl jeans and a new top.
I need a bigger butt and thighs to fill out the jeans. What food put weight exactly on your butt?

You were all correct...It becomes almost addicting! Was able to squeeze a minutes last night to dress, go out and fuel up the rental car in Brandy mode. Again was a rush. Pumping gas in my heels, leggins etc. made me feel soooo very fulfilled. Thanks everyone for the affirming comments!
