    Lucky night

Last night I went out with a friend and ended up at a casino that's about 20 minutes from home. That would usually be too close for comfort but lately I have been emboldened and working towards being fully open about who I am. I wore black pvc leggings, red stilettos, and a red oversized, lowcut sweater top. Anyway, had a few drinks at the bar and played blackjack (lost), roulette (won), and even some slots (lost). This is a popular spot for middle aged and older people in my area, so it was kind of inevitable that I would see someone I knew. Well, in fact, last night I saw three people who know me well. I walked right past them a couple of times over the course of the night, with my heart racing, and nothing happened. There were even two instances of eye contact, which was honestly quite thrilling. Nothing. By this point, it's obvious to me that I am not recognizable as Monica but it's still a real rush to find myself in those situations. Overall, I had a great time at the casino. Disclaimer: I am a terrible gambler and have never emerged with any kind of significant earnings from any casino ever. Last night, I arrived with a budget of $200 to burn. I won, lost, won, and lost again. I went home with $120. All in all, $80 spent on a night of gambling, laughs, thrills and good company was a bargain.

Good to hear someone say again that people we know do not recognize us as our drab selves when we are dressed as girls

Seems like you won in the only way a person can actually win at a casino. You were fully yourself and even in the vicinity of those who might have recognized your other version, you did what you wanted to do. That is a big WIN!

Also, I am reminded that most gamblers remember their winnings and forget their losses.

Good for you Monica. My wife can recognize faces but I cannot. If the side of you they know is not feminine then they may never know until you reveal yourself. But I wouldn’t bet on it. Ha

At the Gold Coast Australia we have had a mask mandate for all indoors (even with 0 cases of COVID) but that's another matter.....anyway our local casino enforces this rule and well my first time to this casino dressed on a Saturday night - extremely busy! Past the knees 3/4 ruffle skirt and 5" stilettos no less and not a single look (mask on makes difference just got the eyes as best i could! - mask off most people can tell!) walked every part of the casino so liberating....won a jackpot $600 (not a hand pay) .....did this 2 Saturdays in a row without issue , bad news (for dressers as mask mandate lifted) ...back to the gay clubs lol

Monica, My wife has always told me, I'm not recognizable when dressed, so I assume most people won't get read just like you. $80 is not bad cost for an evening out.

I always find your posts to be some of the most entertaining, and this does not disappoint. I am incredibly, over the top, envious of what you seem to be able to accomplish. All I want the courage for is to show up en femme somewhere and buy a couple of bras. You, on the other hand, are at casinos (in black PVC leggings?!) and similar venues. I am not worthy, to even respond to your posts! Good for you, and so glad you had a good time.

That?s pretty wild and daring to walk right in front of people who know you well. I am not sure I could do that.

Sounds like a good time. The last time I was in a casino I was in Vegas right before the pandemic and was a little intimidated by the number of people there. Then, after I thought about it, gamblers are so focused on winning or losing money, it is probably one of the best places to go dressed.

    Glad you had fun.

Casinos are a great place to go. They are open all hours, have a wide range of dress, have things to occupy your time (I usually play video poker, very low stakes), and alcohol or other beverages. I been to casinos on both sides of the river locally (four around here), and in Southern Missouri, Milwaukee, and Cleveland. People tend to do their own thing, so there is anominity in numbers.

As to posting pictures, I had the same phobia about five years ago. I then figured if anyone saw me on a crossdressers forum, they aren't likely to be outing me, so I decided why not?

I have moved on to why not? On Halloween, I let my GG friend Michelle post our picture our picture on her Facebook page (her friends are NOT my friends). At last count, 81 likes, and zero comments asking who's the other person in the picture.

Thank you xoxo love. It's definitely a process, and not an easy one, to build up the courage to go out into the real world. It took me a very long time to do it but then I realized that it was OK. So I started to do it more and more. You will get there, but you may have to find ways to push yourself beyond the limits of your comfort zone, even if only a little each time. Thank you.

    Hi Monica,

Thanks for sharing! All I ever do is walk around, gawk at the sights, and buy donuts. A nearby Casino has a Krispy Kreme.

At the Keystone Conference, there is an (optional) casino night.

I go every time I'm at Keystone, and I've been there annually since 2012. A few of us get a table together overlooking the horse track. We watch and (sometimes) bet on the ponies while eating dinner. It's pretty amazing what happens when a bunch of crossdressers wander around a casine in a pack.
Hi, I'm Steffi and I'm a crossdresser... And I accept and celebrate both sides of me. Or, maybe I'm gender fluid.

I think you have crossed a threshold. Congratulations. To pass people you know and even have eye contact and not be recognized is a notable achievement.

There is something to be said for being "Incognito" and that fact alone is so empowering for me.
Sounds like a fun little event to get your girly on in a public lo-cal.
I smile when I hear my heels clicking as I enter a marble lobby, when using the powder room with a actual vanity and chair, and people watching people watching you.
Good to hear you had a fun time being that cute, invisible, out of their league lady, at the casino.

Sounds like a great night Monica. All that for $80 is a real bargain. I'm not sure I could walk by people I know and not be recognized.
