on it.The funny thing was I used to know him when we were kids.He didn't recognize me.I told him I was married.The girls behind the counter gave me some grief for that

Just another man in a dress
I've only been "hit on" twice when dressed femme.
The first time was on Halloween and the guy working in the pizza place wanted a "kiss from a witch" (my costume). I was there with my (first) wife, so "no thank you", but I was thrilled that he thought I was the real thing.
The second time was at a gay-friendly bar. I was there with a GG friend, and this guy was coming on real hard to me. The problem was he was interested in being with a "drag queen" (yes, sex) and that was definitely NOT what I was trying to be (or do). Everything that came out of his mouth was reminding me how I was failing to pass - or even blend as a woman. Needless to say, he didn't "score" and my confidence was badly shaken.
I've been hit on a few times, but most of them time it was a man who, like has been said, only saw me as an object. The ick factor outweighed the compliment. But one guy I still kick myself over bc he was good looking, sweet, and FRENCH (oo la la!). But I was so nervous that I was sure he couldn't really be hitting on me, so I left the bar

Agree with this. It's a really slippery slope and just being hit on is a bit bewildering that you really might lose your self control.

Some of us really enjoy the validation that comes with having a man hit on you, regardless of whether you are into them or not. You can savor that without guilt, and without worrying about the sexual politics. It's just a pleasant and fleeting interaction, unless you choose to take it to the next level. Just keep in mind that, if you do leave that option open, a lot of men see a CD as a sexual curiosity and not really as a human. Chalk this up to the ubiquitous nature of porn in the modern era. This may seem obvious but it can come as quite a surprise when a decent looking man, who was nice and polite with you in one breath, asks you in the next if you will do certain things to him or let him do certain things to you.

I have to agree with Steffi. I'd much rather be hit on by a woman. In fact that's one reason (excuse?) why I'm not too thrilled about going out in public places. Assuming I could look good enough (probably a long shot), it would freak me out to be hit on by a guy. I'd probably just turn and run away! However, being hit on by a sexy, passable CD is another story. Not sure about that. Maybe I'll find out some day, if I ever get the courage to attend one of the CD events.

To date, all of the men hitting on me were married and attracted to the female form. There was no doubt that I was crossdressed each time. There are a lot of things which give us away especially up close. I asked the guy at checkout when I was buying beer one time if he knew I was male. He said my hands gave me away. The thing is, if you look attractive you will end up with male suitors at some point, so don?t be surprised when it happens whether you pass or not. Passing is not always a factor in my experience at least.
It is kind of surprising the first time it happens and can boost your confidence for sure.

I never got used to it, in the least bit. Always felt like I had been blind-sided... Living a normal life one moment, and then the next? BAM! The whole time thinking, "Umm... You know I'm a *dude* under all this, yeah??"
Sometimes they know. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they're wondering. And sometimes they simply don't care, LOL!
I think one of the craziest was when a cute guy came up to our table at a vanilla hetero club & started hitting on me -- in front of a bunch of my attractive & dolled-up GG-friends who were as shocked as I was!
