Keystone - All Girl All the Time

So what is the greatest thing about Keystone. The ability to be "All Girl All the Time".

The first time I went to Keystone, I probably put everything that I owned into one or two suitcases and took it with me. I had pants and matching tops, skirts and matching tops, dresses and long sleeve gauze tops to hide my hairy arms, panties, bras, pantyhose and all kinds of shape-bending underwear to give me a butt and pull in my gut. I had my first and only wig, my only handbag, some minimal but appropriate matching jewelry, including rings, bracelets, necklaces and a girl watch, I had a small collection of makeup and maybe even had painted my own nails. I had a couple of pairs of low heels. I probably had a nightgown or two, probably a long slinky variety and a shorter chemise length. I also had a nightgown for the Saturday night gala dance.

This is only a guess, because, as far as I know, there is only one picture of Steffi at that event in existence. I'm the lady in Red, with four new friends met at Keystone

Mods: This pic is publicly available on Flickr.

The girl to the right of me is a DC girl. I see her quite regularly at DC events.

The girl two to the right of me I met for the first time at Keystone 2012. We hung out together a lot and sat next to each other at Del Sol on Friday night.

The girl to the left of me is someone who I've seen at every Keystone since. At that time, she was, "Just a CD". Now she has transitioned and is still married to her wife.

Did I mention that you may make lifetime friends at Keystone?

Ah Steffi - this looks and sounds like such a blast. I'm looking forward to putting everything I own into a couple of suitcases for my first trip there too - next year? I think I should start preparing my wife now.

I met another DC girl at my first Keystone. I introduced her to my DC Girl group. She introduced me to her wife and let me change at her place. Over the years, we (all three of us) went to the Maryland Renn Fest en femme several times, we went out to eat a lot, we shopped together, and we strutted our girls stuff down Old Town Alexandria. She was my roommate at Keystone a couple of times when her wife couldn't go. When she was short on cash, I let her stay for free in my room. And no, nothing happened. I had to give her back to her wife after the conference. Once, I stayed overnight at her place the night before Keystone. I left all my boy clothes at her place. If anything happened at Keystone, or driving to/from there, I didn't even have a pair of tighty whities to my name. Of course, nothing happened,

What about in the hotel room? She zipped my dress when I couldn't reach the zipper, and I zipped her dress. She had a Revlon makeup mirror that she let me share, and maybe some jewelry.

Unfortunately for me, my BFF moved to Reno shortly before the pandemic. We talk and email, but I haven't seen her since.

As for my two suitcases, that all I still take. But, I have way more clothes than I can fit into two suitcases. My BFF taught me how to pack for Keystone. Two outfits per day. Plus maybe a little extra in case you change you mind. A girls is allowed to change her mind, right.

You have to see the dresses for the Gala Ball to believe them. Many of the girls go all out. I've been to many wedding with a less glamourous selection of evening gowns.

You all look beautiful and I wish I had the confidence and courage you all have. The happy looks on your faces explains it all. You should be proud of yourselves.

I always have fun in girl mode, I was looking through one of my DC meetup groups and I noticed that I was "tagged" in 44 photos. One of the best ones was when I dressed as Wonder Woman for our Halloween party. As it turned out, there were 3 girls in Wonder Woman costumes, all drastically different.

While I always have fun in girl mode, it's much more fun with a lot of girls.

This year, I got dipping nails done on Wednesday afternoon. went shopping for clothes and makeup with 30 girls on Wednesday night, I went to the casino on Thursday night with about 30 girls, I went to the Del Sol Mexican restaurant on Friday night, I got a makeover on Saturday morning and went to the Gala Ball in a full length red sequined evening gown. I must have been kind of cute, because I got hit on by a couple of girls. Nope, good girls don't kiss and tell.

As an example, over 30 girls walk into Del Sol. Almost immediately, all eyes are on us. Not because we were all tall girls, and not because almost everyone was wearing a dress, but because we were a party of 30. My back was to the rest of the diners, but I didn't see any stares.

Yeah, Vegas is on the wrong side of the US.

But, there are other conferences close to me.

First event is in Boston. A girlfriend just told me that she takes Amtrak (the train) there rather than driving.

There's also Fantasia Fair in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Maybe I could take a train to Providence, RI, and drive from there.

Those are on my bucket lists.

Wow, Steffi .... You look nothing like your avatar. Love the dress. It's easy to make friends when you share a common ground. Both P-Town and Keystone are on my bucket list.

Because life is too short not to.

It's ironic ... I finally found a group of guys I fit in with. Funny how they all enjoy being one of the girls.

Wife: Why do you fold your panties? Me: I don't like my panties in a wad!

Did you look at my profile pic, not that rascally rabbit in the Wonder Woman costume?

That's me, a little younger, with a professional makeover.

The pic in this thread is me and some friends that I made at my first Keystone in 2012.

Both of the girls to the left and the right of me have been to every Keystone since 2012, and some before that.

Steffi, you've motivated me to want to go to this conference. My wife and I looked over the schedule from this year's conference and found several workshops that she thought would be good as well as I.

I asked my wife if she thought she would be overwhelmed by being immersed in this for a few days. She said, "I don't know. I guess we'll see!"

    Julie

They also have SO workshops, plus what I would call an SO-only support group. Plus, there are a number of wives who talk about their experiences as the SO of a CD. They talk about the good, the bad and the ugly.

Several of them come every year. I'm always trying to suss out what makes them different from my DADT wife.

The first time I met one of the SOs, she looked like a deer caught in the headlights, Now, after her spouse transitioned, she comes with a big smile on her face. At least one of their children participated in a workshop also.

I can tell you that she'll see all kinds of girls, some who look like they should be models to some who look like a man in a dress. One CD proudly wore his own buzz cut hair. He said his head was too big for a wig.

Yeah that's me. I have a rather large head. I don't have a wig :/ I've looked a number of times, and there are wigs that would fit me, but not many. Regardless of a wig though, I have zero chance of passing and would definitely look like a neanderthal in a dress.

My wife was interested in one of the SO sessions. She likes that it would be just SOs...not to exclude me, but so that SOs can air their thoughts.

I think that some Neanderthals were women. Just saying. It depends on your comfort level, but no one will look twice. We've totally filled the hotel for the last several years, so don't expect to run into any "normals" at the hotel.

I've never had a problem with any hotel staff. It's i pretty big deal (financially) for the hotel. All the rooms booked, all the conference rooms booked, 4 catered meals (3 lunches and 1 dinner). Even if an employee had a personal problem with it, they'd stuff it while we were there, at least if they liked working (there).

    There are numerous vendors there.

One sells wigs. She has been there as far back as I remember. There are also jewelry vendors and Mary Kay vendors.

Behind the hotel is a Target and a Penny's. I believe that there is a Sephora in the Penny's. There's also a shoe store.

In addition, there's Lee's Nails, the biggest nail salon that I've ever seen. You can get any kind on nail treatment you desire there.

There are usually a number of ladies doing makeovers at the conference. I always get at least one makeover while I'm there, sometimes two, depending on the availability of MUAs.

Julie as a first step your wife may simply join the FAB forum here. She will get support from other GGs and vent all she wants without being judged

Oh she knows about the FAB forum. She's just not anywhere near as much of an Internet junkie as I am I'll remind her, but I doubt she'll sign up. She does like hearing some of the funny anecdotes that get posted here, or the unusual situations we all find ourselves in from time to time.
