    Sometimes it's The Little Things...

... which end up making your day.

I'd been feeling a bit 'down' yesterday, but in the afternoon I went out to film a steam train which was passing through my town. On the way to my chosen vantage-point I went through my local McDonalds drive-thru for a coffee. I was dressed in sandals, black knee-high pull-ups, tight jeans and a 'unisex' top. I had my ladies watch and bracelets on, and was wearing my breast forms but not, at that stage, my wig or any makeup apart from my painted nails and a spray or two of 'Impulse'. I've been letting my nails grow out a bit lately, and have been trying to shape them to look more femme.

Normally I keep some change in the console to pay for these coffees etc, but had run out, so I had to use my card in their EFTPOS machine - which required that I use both hands.

As I was entering my PIN, the young lass at the window said, 'I do love your nails, dear'.

Felt ten feet tall as I drove away sipping my coffee. I almost cried, I was so happy for that little bit of validation.

Oh I totally get how it makes you feel as the same has happened to me. I had very long almond shaped nails last year and did not get the compliments until I painted them silver. Even in male mode women were asking me about them and giving me compliments - very cool feeling.

Looks like there was a crowd waiting for the steam engine to pass through town. Cool!

Your nails look great. Its nice to get a compliment from a young lady. I also admire steam trains and like social and economic history. George Stephensons Rocket was trialled not far from my home.

While the steam engine may have been great to see as it passed thru town, I'm betting the compliment on your nails was the highlight of your trip.

One little complement can mean so much. I try to keep that in mind in case I ever help a CD customer.

Steam engines are so cool! A couple years ago they fired up a "Big Boy" engine and toured it around part of the country -- huge and so impressive!

A little compliment like that can absolutely make the day, the steam engine was really something to see and I think I would have put a coin on the track like I did as a kid.
    Pretty nails!

Feeling 10 foot tall is such a masculine statement, how about feeling 5 foot one inch tall? Lol. And petite! Congratulations!

Perhaps, Karren, it would be more accurate to say that I felt like I was floating 10 feet in the air.
