From the Closet to the Outside World

A milestone for me. My first trip to the outside word totally en fem. Well almost, all female clothing with wig, but no makeup. Need to purchase some & of course watch some video's and practice.
Originally planned on just a drive, fully dressed, but the pink fog wanted more... lol.
I have a male house mate to share expenses, that does not know about Emily. Yesterday afternoon, I got prepared by taking a backpack out to my car with wig, brush, & forms. I planned to leave around 7:30, it was a warm night, so dressed casual with new black girl shorts, a nice rouched grey top, and my ballet flats.
Left the house before dusk and drove a short way to a quiet overlook at a park close by. Took off my drab t shirt, put the forms in my bra, and put on my new wig. While there, I decided to walk around the parking area, and sit on the bench near the overlook for a few minutes. Very nice tranquil experience.
Got back in the car, (purposely took my ubiquitous crossover suv instead of my easily recognizable classic sports car) and headed for a small town near the Oklahoma border with a nice old world downtown area, about 40 minutes away. I have been there for lunch a few times at a sidewalk cafe, and knew on Sunday after 8pm, business's would be closed & the area fairly quiet traffic wise.
Drove extra carefully to the destination, parked near the cafe, when the pink fog goddess told me to get out of the car and walk around. Who was I to argue with a goddess. Out of the car I went, the main street was fairly quiet as I strolled up and down the 2 sides and window shopped. Does that count as shopping en fem??? Passed two or three people on the sidewalk who gave me no attention, a number of cars passed by but did not stop and cause me any extra anxiety. Sat on a brick planter surrounding one of the street lamp posts, was about to attempt a few pictures just a loud group started coming down the street. Decided to not push my luck, back in the car, and instead of heading home, drove further west about 15 minutes to a casino with a large parking lot.
Pulled in to the casino parking lot and parked near the less busy side entrance as opposed to the big glitzy brightly lit main entrance. Walked along and around the area near the entrance when the fog goddess suggested for me to go inside. I figured I was already gambling so I did not need add to it...

Managed to get a few pictures, it is difficult when you are alone, so I must apologize for the quality of this one. Maybe I need to find a photographic assistant for my future adventures. That's where having a local cd friend to do things with would be great asset. I can only hope to meet someone with our common interests one day.

The drive back home was uneventfull, changed back to my less fem self in a supermarket lot near my house.

All in all, a very exhilarating experience for me, can't wait till next time...

Congrats Emily! Just be careful being out and about when it's deserted at night. General rule of thumb; if you're going out and about in a place/time where a woman wouldn't be found by herself, neither should you.

That is awesome! I always loved going to casinos enfemme! They will take my money I matter how I am dressed! And watch taking photos in a casino. I have been yelled at by their security a number of times for taking photos. But I still snuck a few in!

Oh Emily. You are done now. The pull to do it more is as irresistible as dressing itself.
I suggest next time go to a Kohl?s or something like it and browse there. Safer in daylight and the experience is better.
    Way to go hon!

Suggest checking crime maps before venturing out at night. I thought I was safe in a neighborhood in the daytime and discovered there was a robbery within a hour of being on location. Better safe than sorry.

    Emily,

I have to break the news to you. This is a genie out of it's bottle and no putting it back!

So many of us start out like you, going out under the cover of darkness. It's only after we've progressed further that we realise going out in daylight is both safer and more fun.

You say you need makeup and to practice well I'm sure others will say the same, get dressed and go get a store makeover.

The SA's will be super helpful, advise on what suits you best and how to apply. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of cash as makeup doesn't come cheap and you'll need things like brushes and pads as well (don't forget the makeup removers!) but it will be money well spent. It'll give you a real head start in applying makeup well.

Plus, now dressed and with a well applied face on, what better time to go browse the clothing rails in a few shops?

Thank you ladies for all the wonderful encouragement and advice, especially on being cautious at night. I realize the importance of awareness of your surroundings and the big benefit of being out during daytime hours in normal settings with people about. I am going to look for a location not too far away for my morning 4 mile walk routine and do it all dressed. Just need to find ladies tennis shoes in my size. Currently, I wear as much female attire as possible during those exercise outings, just my t shirt & shoes are not women's.
Next on my list is makeup. Have to work on my courage a bit to have that done as Helen has suggested.

You are so right about casino's Karren, probably one of the safest places to go alone, will limit my play - don't want to cut into my fall wardrobe budget. A girl has to have her priorities...

    You ladies are the best

Ah oh! You have gone and done it now. You opened the door to a whole new world. Congratulations!!!

It seems that you were being fairly wise with your exposure to "evil dooers," but be careful just as JulieC warns. If you are a lone female out and about you and there aren't many people around you are engaging in risky behavior. The rule among CD's and Trans people here is do what a GG does to be safe and double it.

    Emily,

Very nice!! Congrats of your first time out, one that you will never forget no matter how often you go out in the future. And believe me, you will be going out because it can get very addictive as I was warned by many ladies on here after my first time out. And boy were they right! I love presenting Fiona to the world.

Enjoy the heck out of what is a very thrilling journey.

If makeup is a concern, perhaps the pink fog goddess direct you to Ulta or Sephora for a make-over on your next outing. I guarantee you will be warmly received and well served. You will leave with greater confidence, the make up items you need and at least rudimentary skills in their use. But, you may find it cheaper to go to the casino!

Thanks for reinforcing the safety concern Gretchen, I will always keep that foremost in mind. I will try to keep my wits about me... The casino seems like a safe venue, they have cameras everywhere, even outside.

You are so right Fiona, I can already feel the attraction of what my future adventures may hold. Very exciting, I give it much thought during my morning exercise walks.

I am sure it could turn into a high dollar trip at Ulta Kim. Sounds great, there are 2 locations fairly close to me. Just need to work on my courage to make a appointment, but its on my list.
