    Monetising Your Pictures

I am wondering if anyone had tried or considered trying to earn money from their crossdressing photos.

What started me thinking is that one of the girls I follow on Flickr is now mostly posting on OnlyFans because their account reached the 1000 photo limit. From what I can see OnlyFans seems to require regular posts, lots videos, blogs and interaction with fans, but it would be interesting to know if anyone has actually tried it. Also, has anyone tried other ways to monetise their pictures with other websites?

I?m under no illusions that I would make a fortune from this, but earning a few ?/$s towards a new dress would be nice. If fans wanted more sexy photos like lingerie, French maid or PVC, I?m not too bothered, particularly as the maid is one of my favourite looks. But I do due draw the line at actual nudity or sex acts.

    Thanks

    Isabel

Judging by your Flickr photos, I'd say you could earn enough to buy many dresses. Even if you don't think you're traditionally attractive (I would disagree, BTW), there are plenty of people in this world who would pay a small monthly fee to see your photos and videos.

I've considered doing something like that myself, but I'm old, out of shape and terrible at makeup. Maybe just a foot / nylon fetish theme...I'll get a new pedi every few days...LOL
It's spelled Marika, but it's pronounced Janey!

A friend of a friend does this. Late 30?s, attractive but not a knockout. She gets many small donations, some larger ones, and some special requests which range from very mainstream to very bizarre. Some fans buy her clothing as requested.

No idea if it goes beyond paying for what she buys. Or if she does anything risque?.

You can also look up F1nn5terLIVE, an a English gamer who became a self-described ?EGirl? and dresses up for challenges. According to one site he makes about $300,000 per year on YouTube, and people buy him things to wear.

I've been told by a number of FB Friends that I could be making big bucks by selling my pics instead of giving them away.

But, unlike u, Isabel, and unknown to my FB Followers, I already post tons of nude and kinky sexual themed pics and stories on Fetlife. I'd do a pay site if they didn't censure me. But, even Fetlife deleted some of my pics and NOT because they were objectionable!

Wonder if you could write off your fem clothes as a business expense? Bet an IRS audit of your income taxes could be very entertaining! lol

    Hi Isabel
I agree with Marika that you would certainly get customers paying a monthly fee
as your Flickr photos are attractive & good quality. I'm sure there are various online guides on doing this including making sure you provide enough new content each month to keep subscribers.

Can you dedicate enough time to upload new content each month ?
If you didn't have time every month, could you take enough photos/video in one session for the following month as well?

I follow several girls on Flickr who have their own Onlyfans or Patreon pay-feeds.
If you're just aiming to cover the costs of new outfits & maybe some travel/hotel costs to provide different backgrounds then I think you'll do just fine.

Good luck if you decide to go ahead !

    Good point Karen
The OP Isabel is in the UK like me & the tax authority here is HMRC and they have very strict rules on claiming clothing as an allowable expense. It has to be something that you would NEVER wear in normal life.

Photography costs might be claimable though

In the states, if you had income (and declared it) you could deduct the expenses for photography, clothing and cosmetics. Some of these businesses take off in crazy ways.

A friend of ours is a professional model: she is one of those spokesmodels you see at car shows. She took a tax deduction for breast augmentation.

It seems to be rather difficult task.

If Your image at the pictures is convincing ie. You look like a woman (You do, the flowery summer dress looks super) then every pretty woman can possibly concure You ( all women are pretty )

If not - the photo blog may dissapoint its followers.

It would be nice to have a source of income to offset the costs of dresses, makeup, etc., but is the content you are able (or willing) to create apt to attract enough subscribers to justify the investment? What would the subscribers be getting for their money and what would they do with the images/videos?

Sure, there are copyright protections, but you'll have to find and report the violations and by then, they could be reposted to dozens of other sites or modified and reutilized in various ways without your knowledge.

Point is, every choice comes with a tradeoff, so it's better to consider one's options carefully.

If one is ok with it, one might check what the successful earners are doing and try to replicate it. A cursory glance at the OnlyFans wikipedia page suggests it is, for the most part, used for pornographic purposes. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but you have to decide if that's worth it for you and how you will feel creating that kind of content for money, keeping in mind you'll be enriching someoneone else in the process as well, so technically you'll be working for them.

I think the point is that I'm already dressing up and getting my photos taken, so in that respect I would n't be doing anything more than I would normally. I don't think I'd get censured as I'm fully clothed in all of them. Some are sexy with underwear or glimpses of stocking tops, but nothing X-rated.

On the other hand, presumably subscribers would want personal messages, blogs, videos, specific outfits etc to keep them interested. Also, I would need to consider how many and often to publish photos. I normally (at least beofre COVID) had 3 to 4 dressing up sessions a year, with 3 or 4 outfits each time. That's 16 looks per year. Would that be enough to maintain interest.

As I said, this is not a career. Just earning a bit of money for something I'm doing anyway.

BTW, Betty, is this the photo you liked:

Only fans can make money but it depends on a lot of things.

Its not something I would do but be aware it can get complicated. you need to have a profile that people would want to see. Also regular content.

Are you prepared for the fall out when your friends and family find out ?

For anyone thinking F1nn5ter makes a lot of money. I agree, but please be aware he has more than one source of income.
Oh and he has said he will not have an only fans profile.

You might try looking up Lily Blinz or Abby Cats UK. They started on Tumblr and have since created Patreon/instagram accounts to monetize.

Patreon seems to be more photo-friendly and a little less demanding than only fans.

Also seems like to really gain traction, you need new content weekly at a min.

YES. You look perfect here. No dout - pretty girl. No one would belive that You are a man here.

The hardest thing is to look good in ordinary women's clothing.
It seems to me that the secret to dressing nicely is the principle: less is more.

How many women in their thirties who put on a French maid's outfit or frilly cheerleader skirts?
I guess cross-dressers do it more often.

The tax deductibility of clothing is a slippery slope. If the clothing in the photo is used 100% for photo shoots, it's deductible. Once it is worn for personal use, that's where the issues arise. If you wear a suit and tie to work and then used that same suit and tie for a photo shoot, it's not a deductible expense because it's a part of your regular wardrobe. I suspect a dress worn 90% of the time for modeling would get by an auditor. If it's worn 20% of the time, I doubt there's any way it's tax deductible. There's a gray area between that 90% and 20%. If I were doing your tax return (and I did about 3,000 of them before I retired), I'd write them off if the modeling use were 75% or greater with the understanding if the IRS disallows it, you'll be happy to pay up to Uncle Sam. lol.

The advantage is there are no barriers to entry. You can set up an Onlyfans account, for instance.

The disadvantage is there is no barriers to entry. Which means there is a lot of free content out there so why would people want to pay for someone's?

Stana emailed me once her site gets about 8,000 hits a day. I assume her blog doesn't generate a lot of revenue.

Kandi's gets about 400 hits per day, based on my occasional checking the numbers on the page. Having not spoken to Kandi about this, I doubt the ads on the site generate a lot of income.

So you can try, but I wouldn't expect to be successful.

Tax deduction? First, generate some income, and worry about taxes after that.

I encountered a stay at home married mom who was able to rake in $80K a year talking dirty on a call in line, no pictures or video involved. All on the up and up.

There are many people who get a split of the ad revenue if his or her Youtube site gets a lot of traffic. If you got the goods, sell it.

I think, given this some consideration, I probably would n't generate enough cash to make this worth while. I don't think I have the time to produce enough content to keep customers happy.

Shame, but I think it's only the truly exceptional people like F1nnster who can make a real living out of this.
