My "first time" was going for a wig-fitting. I must have spent about 3 hours in makeup. Of course I was late and in a rush and so programmed the wrong address into the SatNav. Luckily when I got to the (wrong) address there was no one in but my heart was going triple time! Go, you!
Your first few times will likely not go as well as you hope. Don't let that form your opinion of going out. Your experiences will get much better as you become more experienced with going out and being in public. Give it some time before you make any judgments on whether it's for you or not. Whether or not you like it the first few times is not how you may end up feeling about it.
