Halloween party...Really need to wear a costume?!?!

So I just found out about what seems to be a really good halloween themed crossdressing/TG party at a club not too far from me...I really want to go, but would prefer to just dress in a great outfit as opposed to wearing a "costume"...Thoughts?!?!

Think if you just dressed as a fancy woman than no one would get it but if you dressed up fancy as someone, like a movie star or famous person?

Last year I saw one woman who put on some cat ears and had whiskers painted on her face. The rest of her was just a cute outfit, but it worked on her. You could do something simple and still fit into the Halloween theme.

Of course other ones I saw were over the top including mine.

If your "costume" is a regular woman's outfit u r announcing, "I'm a crossdresser", to everyone.

If u dress in a woman's costume u mite pass with some. If not, u mite just be a guy having fun on Halloween?!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

Since it's a friendly party, just cross dressing isn't really a costume. Time to step up your game. Seriously though, a costume is appropriate.

I would pick one of the outfits Mary Ann wore on Gilligan's Island.
I'm sure some of my older friends would recognize it.

With my exclusive wearing of dresses maybe for me a man's coat and tie outfit could be my Halloween costume.

Go any way you want. If someone asks, just pick a celebrity and say that is who you are emulating.

Do what makes you happy but really Diva it up to-the max because you really can wear that dress anytime.
Have fun no matter just be you and do what makes you feel best.

I know our first Halloween party Sher dressed just with reg clothes and I was trying to convince her otherwise. She regretted it but bet me from that time forward we were flappers, Gypsys, pirate girls, cheerleaders, every dang thing . Every year topping it.
But if you feel comfortable wear a dress ….just have fun that is all that matters.
Can’t wait to hear all about it.

I've gone to a lot of Halloween parties dressed. I've been in the following costumes:

    French Maid
    Hooter's Waitress
    Haram Girl
Mermaid, but not the Little Mermaid
    Geisha Girl
    Wonder Woman

and probably a few others that I forgot.

The French Maid costume party was with a bunch of colleagues from work. One of the GGs was also a French Maid, and I talked my wife into being the butler. She didn't know about Steffi at the time, and I'm not even sure that I did.

The rest of the times, I went out with my TG friends without my wife. Her choice.

I highly recommend going in a costume that a GG would wear that she wouldn't dare to wear any other time. But a celebrity would be a good choice: Cher, Legally blonde Cher, Marilyn Monroe, Maryanne (from Gilligan's Island), Elly May Clampett (Beverly Hillbillies), Pamela Anderson (Bay Watch), etc.

Just shopping real stores for the costumes would be great fun. It was for me!
Hi, I'm Steffi and I'm a crossdresser... And I accept and celebrate both sides of me. Or, maybe I'm gender fluid.

Last year I added a pointy dollar-store hat and lace gloves to a lbd and called myself a witch. The lbd was what I wanted to wear out anyway, so I spent the day as me and then put on a hat and presto: instant witch.

    Staci:

Two years ago at our TG group Halloween bash I wore my Cinderella Briar Rose outfit. I felt so cute feeling like a real princess with the petticoat under my skirt. I agree with the other girls here.Pick a costume a woman would wear.

    Staci,
If you really want to wear that CK dress, OK. Go ahead.

You can always "costume" it up a bit by wearing some Halloween accessories, like a witch hat, ghost earrings, a jack-o-lantern necklace, or something such.
You might not win any costume contests, but you'll still be in the spirit.

Save the dress for a better occasion. I'm sure you will have plenty in the future.

Little black dress, a witches hat, maybe a black cat or a broom.
    I don't wear women's clothes, I wear MY clothes !
