This past Monday, I had an appointment with the retina specialist as well as appointment to pick new glasses with prisms in the left lens and left bi-focal lens. I had some time to kill between the appointments which meant a trip to Kohl's with a 30% off coupon. I only go to the clearance racks. I found a $40.00 wrap dress marked down to $18.00. With the 30% coupon, I paid $13.48, including tax, for it. When I wore it after dinner tonight, I asked my wife, "I know you don't care for it on me; but, how do you like my $13.00 dress?" She said it was nice but not something she would get for herself. I then asked her when I go shopping for myself, would she mind if I looked for something for her. I told her if she didn't care for it, returning it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. She said that although she likes to do her own shopping, that would be okay so long as my feelings wouldn't be hurt if she returned it.
I like these little conversations as I believe they help break down, if only a little bit, some of the objections to CDing. Every itty bitty step is important.
