    What are the chances?

I got a surprise gig doing geology in a far away place. I was driving home and stopped at a random starbucks in full Christie mode, well, full Christie who is spending the day in a car driving, but anyway, leggings, tunic top, forms, wig and a little bit of makeup. I did my toes too, I love seeing color on them when I wake up.

I am standing in line when the woman behind me strikes up a conversation. I turn around and see that she is my daughter?s boss, also hundreds of miles from her home. There was no sign of recognition, we were both out of context and I was way cuter than I normally present. My daughter knows as she caught me years ago when she came home from school early. But that is another whole story.

What are the chances? Apparently 100%.

Once in a while, just like playing in a casino, the odds go out the window. You never know.
Glad it all turned out well for you. Your travel outfit is very similar to mine.

You never know. Two instances of chance encounters:

    1) My brother and one of our male cousins met in the headdress of the Statue of Liberty. Both were on class field trips; brother from New York and cousin from New Jersey.

    2) I was at a baseball game in Seattle with my son-in-law when ran across his next-door neighbor from Chicago who was sitting in the row in front of us and several seats to the left.

You never know who is going to see you in a pretty dress and heels.

Not knowing where u live, Christie, I'd guess the odds of that happening in SoCal or New York City area to be at least one in a million. In Colorado, Wyoming, or the Deep South, one in a 100,000.

But, in either case u already beat the odds. So, don't buy a lottery ticket now!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

I was once out in Manchester and a guy from my office came walking towards me on the same footpath, we passed shoulder to shoulder, he didnt bat an eyelid, thats because he wasnt looking for me in full makup with a wig on. So think about it, would you recognise your neighbour with full makeup and a wig on, doubt it.thats because your brain does face recognition, and Im something it didnt recognise.

I live in Ohio. I have run into people that I know from here 3 times in Colorado (but I get out there at least once a year). Ran into someone from our church who recognized my wife and me in Key West (I didn't recognize her though). I was in drab all of those times.
However, earlier this year, we were in Palm Springs and I convinced my wife to go with me to a nearby outlet mall as Gracie. She never goes out in public with Gracie because if someone sees us together they are more likely to recognize me than if I run into someone by myself. I convinced her (and myself) that the chances of running into someone that we knew, so far from home, was low . She ran into someone we know in the bathroom, and fortunately, I was not with her at that time. When I came back and saw them talking, I watched from a distance for a while and then went away and waited until they were done talking. Needless to say, she won't be venturing out with Gracie anywhere, anytime.

The chances are low but as we all know stuff happens and more often then we realize it is.

It really is a small world. I was on a cruise and I got off the ship and went on a ferris wheel and my old niebours end up in the same car. The whole time trying to cover I was wearing pantyose with no socks and pulling my pants down to cover them.

My wife and I went on a cruise a couple of years ago. We ran into a couple from our town that were on the same ship. It was a bit of a surprise.

Years ago, my oldest daughter had a baby and CPS had to get involved. I got into it with one of the CPS workers at one of the meetings. A few months later I went on a cruise just to get away from it all. While eating one night, I saw the CPS worker and she saw me. I got up and went to apologize for my mouth and attitude. We were both there to get away from the chaos for a while. It is a small world.
