    Some good news

I recently read where an increasing number of younger Americans (I can't recall the exact age ranges) are identifying as LGBTQ. It was not broke down so you could see how many identified as transgender; but I assume there was an increase. I know we have been constantly bombarded over the past few years with attacks on LGBTQ persons. But I do honestly believe that the overall trend is in our favor. As someone who came out as trans (only to my wife) I am envious of younger people who have much more support. As a 69 year old I cannot even begin to imagine what the reaction would have been if I had come out as trans in my formative years. So while I am envious of the younger people I am happy that they at least have options and support when and if they decide whatever path to follow.

It tickles me the way some in society make out that being Trans is in some way something invented in the last few years by the "Wokerarty" in their attempt to defend traditional values while ignoring that in times gone by there were the Molly Houses, places men would go to dress up in women's clothing and socialise. In truth they were part social club, part brothel accommodating gay men as well but their existence shows that what we're seeing isn't something new, just something no longer hidden at least to the extent it was.

We could be witnessing the dying thrashes of a way of thinking as the older, more reticent to change generation more ever closer to their date with the grim reaper. Not being too blunt about it but death will slowly change the demographics in society as the younger generation exsert a change in thinking. There will I'm sure always be the detractors but it's likely they will be become less of a force in society's thinking.

Here are the 2022 numbers per the Gallup poll.

Do I think the percentage has grown over time? No.

Do I think the percentage willing to admit they are LGBT has increased over time? Absolutely.

I have written before--just did so on Micki Finn's blog--there is no better time to be LGBT than now. There is more acceptance than ever.

For those who are on the fence about venturing out dressed, I suggest you opt to give it a shot and find out for yourself.

An increasing number are coming forward and claiming to be trans, but are they really or is this part of that Me Too thing.
Social Media seems to influence the younger people to such a high degree these days. They worry about what someone they never met said about something they posted somewhere. Influencers is a perfect term for people these days. It's not what YOU think it's what millions of others think of you.
I'm just afraid that many are simply tagging along and will find out much too late that it wasn't true and not really their choice, but that they were lemmings.

I am not so interested in whether there is an apparent rise or decline in the proportion of the population identifying as LGBTQ+ as I am in the level of tolerance in society for LGBTQ+ or other marginal groups.

The thing is the young trans today r not binary as many of us older girls r.

So many r quite satisfied to dress androgenously just like many young women do these days!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

I don't believe people's brain chemistries have changed dramatically lately, but it seems obvious that people are more willing to admit if they're gay or trans or whatever these days.

Also, CD isn't any part of LGTBQ (although it may be somewhere in the rest of the alphabet that comes with the "+")

I wonder anyway if more will be willing to admit they're CD these days (I've seen a few publicly state they are without being LGTBQ), or transversally, if fewer will think they're CDing as (as Doc mentioned) more and more men are wearing androgynous outfits in public, not to wear "women's" clothes but just wearing their modern styles. In some circles capris or blouses are barely women's clothes anymore as much as they're unisex (gotta hope that trend continues!)

That is an interesting chart. I'm not sure where I fall in those brackets. It would seem simple enough to classify one's self; but..................

    1. I am straight and have never has a gay experience. However, for many years I have fantasized about being submissive to a trans woman that has not had bottom surgery. So long as my wife and I are together - likely until one of us passes - that will never happen. But, I also wonder if that puts me in the category of being bi or just bi-curious.
    2. At age 78 I seriously doubt I'm trans as there is no way I'd ever consider transitioning. However, if I were 20 and knew what I know now, there's a reasonable likelihood I'd give it serious thought.

Once again, trying to label one's self just doesn't always work. What I do know is I love cross dressing and hope to do so the rest of my life.
