    Starting my journey

At 76 years old my starting my journey to transition. I'm both scared and nervous. I don't know what to expect. I'll find out next week if I can start HRT. I've been wanting to do this for years. My sister knows and will be by my side.

Please give me some incite to what I might be going thought. I know I've been told it will take time.

I started HRT on July 1st, and I've read a lot about timelines etc. Most information and first hand accounts say 3 months is when changes first become noticeable. I have yet to see any perceivable changes but it is still early and I'm not in too much of a hurry. Everyone is different so there is no set time for anything. Three months to three or four years is what I've found for most major changes to take place. Good luck on your journey!
I just want to be me, and be happy.

Glenda, I am wishing you all the best as you move forward. I am unable to give you insight as to changes or timelines, but I can give you my support. You have a family of support right here. I think I can speak for all of our sisters here, that we will be with you as you start a new chapter in your life. I know I will be here for you anytime you need or want a shoulder. Hugs, Kisses, Meg

I hope you are able to pursue HRT. If not, you can still continue the social transition already begun.

Glenda you will be amazed as to what you've missed and just what you will be able to do. I used to live in San Diego and just loved riding the train there. Being dressed and on HRT will put you more at ease. Only answer to Glenda, by saying yes and any other name by a look and not a word. Good days in your future.

Dressing is necessary, the type of clothes you wear not so much.

I started my first treatment today. A Estradiol patch and spironolactone tablet. They tell it will be a year before I can do any kind of surgery. I'll need to go in every 3 months for checkups.

I'm so happy now that it's started.

Best wishes to you. We are around the same age and I started my journey about a year and a half ago. You will go through some bumps and ups and downs but don't let it get to you
The one thing that I found is there can be some mood changes. Welcome to woman hood

Glenda, the most important part is that you're getting to be who you want to be and that's all that matters!

As many of us here as there are, we do seem to have some differences I'm who we want to be and how we will hopefully get there, thanks for taking us along on your journey. Remember that everyone here is on your side and good luck.

You look fantastic. The best of luck to you. I’m 70 and would love to transition but age and family issues complicate that. At least I can dream that I still have the opportunity lol.
