My parents flat out told me that I was supposed to have been born a girl and they were going to name me Cindy.

Me too! Mom held out hope, but alas four boys, one younger brother. Poor thing! If she only knew it was three and a half boys and one half girl!
Anyhoo, my dad, God bless his soul, used to try to tease me by calling me Danielle when in the day I wore long hair. If he only knew!
Mom had wanted another girl, and had the name Karen Susan, which by southern standards would have come out more as Karen Sue, But I decided to go with something more in line with my male name (Used my male initials so monograms work both ways).
Tina Lynn Betterman
This is easy for me to answer because my mom told me on a number of occasions that she would have named me Elizabeth and called me Betsy if I had been born a girl. She also told me on several occasions that she had wanted to have a girl. She stopped short of saying that she wished that I had been born a girl, but she had me try on dresses when I was quite young and she had me wear girls' panties throughout my elementary school years.
I didn't really want to use "Elizabeth" as my femme name though it is a name I like very much.

Dreams are betther lived than dreamt!
When I first came out to my wife about my dressing 28 years ago she came up with my name, Melanie Ann. I later found out from my mother that before I was born my parents had chosen the name Melanie Ann if I was born female. She never told me until several weeks before her death in 2003.
I love being "gender gifted"! www.pmpub.com
I brought up the subject of names with Mom one day, why she and Dad named my brothers what they did, where they came up with my name.. Etc.
I asked.. well.. what if I had been born a girl, (Mom and Dad definitly wanted a girl on the third try!) She kinda rolled her eyes and with a bit of a discusted voice said.. "Mary". I knew right away why she did that.. It's Dad's mothers name. Although Mom and her got along ok.. it wasn't a real loving relationship. I didn't press her to see if there had been any other names discussed, but I suspect that Mom might have had some other ideas.
I would of been Julie.

MY mother wanted to name me Robin but when some close friends named their daughter Robin. I got Robert instead..... should have getten Serina, that is the name of my paternal grandmother. even as a boy I may have been able to deal with Serina knowing what I know about Crossdressing now.

My mom had two names picked out for me one was Angela Marie and I think the other ones name was Christina.
If I was born a girl it was suppose to be Carrie, which I actually think is kinda pretty.
Amy
I would have been Roxy, my sister born later got it, after our mother and great grandmother.

Rachel Anne I was told. When I was younger the fact that my Grandmother and Aunts always told me I should have been a girl didn't help. I was determined to prove them wrong and ended up becoming a "tomboy". It does seem, however, that I more or less ended up being a girl anyway. I dunno, you decide.

Mom kinda wanted a daughter..
My name would have been michelle.... Um.. I "think" that is the right spelling..??
I asked my mother a couple of years ago, and she thought that I would have been named Rachel or Deborah. I kind of like Rachel, but neither name really fits me.
My mom was going to call me Renee Gail but she only called me that when I would dress since I was born male.Had a lot of fun being Renee growing up though.
They would have named me Emily.
For my "chosen name" I was going to be Emily, but the first friend I came out to thought that Emma was better (probably because she knew a lot of Emilys. XD)
If I were to ever get a legal name change it would probably be Emily, even though I go by Emma with my friends.
I actually go by Emily
(Emma's a nickname)

I was supposed to be Shawna, but was a boy. Mom was pissed when my Aunt used the name a year later. So my sister is Cindy. I wish I was Shawna
I would have been called Tracy Louise.
Sabrina.
What matters most is how you see yourself.
The baby girl that wasn't to be, was to be "Helen"....
