When women adopted men's clothes it had little to do with fashion. They were trying to force their way into the fields of societal power by looking and acting like men. In many ways that's easier for society to understand and accept than it is a "powerful man" wanting to adopt the appearance of "weaker women" we are another challenge to the patriarchal order but we are not 50 percent of the population. I think it's a longer road to acceptance but we can always throw on men's wear whenever we don't feel like fighting thatvbattle. an option women never had.
