Well you have the classic tale of the "Headless Horseman" so why not have a modern tale of the "Headless Crossdresser?"

Both reek havoc on society when they show up.

The Headless Horseman carries a flaming pumpkin in his hand. The Headless Crossdresser carries a flaming wig head. No...make that a digital camera.

Screams can be heard. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Adobe Photoshop. No!!!!!!!!!!!

my pic does show my face. However, depite make up,wig etc,i still prefer to look at myself from the 'neck down' and appreciate my wonderful clothes and look.Id call myself slim(as well as Claire),so think i look quite passable as a woman.

I am one of your "Headless Crossdresser's", I do not show my face in the pics, because I do not have a nice wig (yet) and my make-up is not very good at the moment. I also think my face is not very fem looking one, even with my make up attempts. There is all so a time factor, when I have time to take my pics (which is limited) I can change outfits quickly with having to worry about smugdeing the make up etc and take a greater number of pics.
I want to be a part of this forum by showing some of the clothes I have and how I look in them, which to me is the main reason that I am a crossdresser.
It is a big step out of our dark closets for some of us to show pics, so please be nice to us we are trying very hard to fit in were we can.
    Sabrina.

    Bravo! Bravo!
for those of us who are brave enough to show face to all whether totally passable or somewhat less...

And Bravo! to those who present in public without concern for the thoughts of others...

Being a broadcaster, my face is more readily recognized than others, so I stand a greater risk of discovery.

Saying that, there's a wee brave part of me that would like to be discovered...live through the embarrassing stage to the ...'they really don't give a damn" stage ...to the "somedays he's a she" stage to where it's accepted publicly as normal.

Perhaps if more media , advertising agencies, fashion gurus and the like leapt onto the bandwagon, then what people wear for their own pleasure might lose any distinction in the public eye.....

That's just a wee part of me, though, so I remain in fear of being noticed when my wife and I enjoy a 'girl's night out' ...

    ...I'm currently a chickenshit...

My birthday is tomorrow, I'm looking forward to my birthday present from her... breast forms and a dress up party for two. Then out for dinner where I'll have to show ID for a free birthday dinner. (I'll most likely pay)....

I'll get to the headshots soon...and add more pics.
For Halloween, my most awesome SO has booked us both into a makeup studio.

She's going as me, and I as her. There'll be photos and I'll post them.

As a footnote, a massive thanks to this forum for a list of reasons that many of us share.

    I'm not the only one
    I'm not a freak
    I'm proud of me
    I can have fun
I'm a guy, I drink beer and yell at the TV, I drive wild sometimes, I have a mean left hook, belts in three martial arts and four great sons and sometimes I wear 5" heels and look and feel great in a skirt. I caught 6 very nice rainbow in a high-mountain lake with my new fly rod and I'm going back for more. .. and I love my wife and enjoy my work and never have enough money.

    Ain't life great?

So add your face...I'll add mine...(when I've got a good one...)
    or don't.
    It's not an issue, girls.

We are here because in one way or another, we need each other, whether your face is visible, whether you pass or not...it's so....not so much about that.

Do you feel good? Do you feel complete, or happy, or hot?

    ... That is what matters.

Not whether or not we display our persona to the forum..or the world.

It's how we display ourselves to ourselves.

With that in mind.... You are HOT enfemme.

    and so am I.

Thanks Marsea! It's only taken me two weeks to pluck up the courage to do this LOL. This is with the support and encouragement of everyone on these forums. Deep down I know nobody will recognize me and it's not like I have my zip code in my profile.

Some of us are in positions, jobs, areas of the country etc where cross dressing can get you fired or have a negative effect on your career. Ex.#1 You are a high school principal, school system superintendant, teacher, coach etc. Would you risk the possibility of getting outted by showing your face, and possibly being recoginzed by another teacher or any school staff, who then anonymously copies and pastes your picture for the whole entire school to recognize.

Ex.#2 You are a judge, police officer, firefighter, prosecuter, in the military etc. Again do you want to take the same risk. Also what effect could it have on your ability to do the job.

Ex. 3 You are preacher, religous leader, etc. In a very conservative part of the country. Do you want to take the risk of your congregation finding out.
I am not in any of the above listed proffessions, however where I do work I know my employer would not approve of me doing this if they found out.

Do not get me wrong, I understand everyone takes risk and in basicaly most proffessions being found out that you are a crossdresser could possibly have a negative effect on your career. I respect and look up to those of you who have the courage to show your faces. I am slowly getting to the point where I am ready to show mine.

So for the time being all I am comfortable with doing is showing me from the neck down. Hope this helps to explain a little. :2c:Jocelyn
Well said to only add it is also terms with SO's that may not be accepting in the first place.
Staying in the closet isn't so bad as long as you know why your in there.

Just as many have said. Some do it for security and to keep a low profile. I have a Tgirl friend that is a Cop that goes out with the gang here in Atlanta all the time. Its too late now but she in a moment of candor told me if she had it to do again she would keep a lower profile and not have her pics all over the net...but too late now so she just goes with it. Plus I keep telling her she looks NOTHING like her boy side when enfemme...so I think she will be ok.

Others just might not be happy with the look yet...or not have all the wigs and makeup yet to do it with. It is after all relatively easy to order fem cloths online. But Wigs and Makeup are tougher. Oh you can order those too...but to really get what you need you have to go to a shop with an expert salesclerk to get your makeup in the right hue or to find the right wig to cut and style.

I know I was thrilled when I got my first pics that I thought looked decent enough to use for a profile. I can still remember going to my yahoo page and putting my mug shot on the page. Oh lord I really thought I had accomplished something and was runnin with da big dogs then!!!

But I don't judge away on pics or any of that. I used to be faceless on the local atlanta yahoo clubs espcially...really I just lurked for a good while watching the girls post and reading up on stuff. Now for all the faceless guys that hit on me via email or IMs....I do iggy them!!!

I "lurked" on here too for so long before plucking up the courage to join in. So glad I did and actually regret not joining much sooner.

    As for the "faceless guys":

Thanks Jocelyn, I'm in one of those professions and can't risk it. Loss of my job would effect my family and therefore, no pics.

I would have no particular problem if my family saw me and recognised me but if anyone from my area recognised me my family and me would have more hate and abuse to put up with that most of you would not understand, and i am not guessing at that i no it for a fact but i am not willing to explain any more than that .

The resons are generally pretty simple, and a personal choice

For myself, and 'headless' photography, I have too many computer-savvy and inquiistive kids around here to take on any more risk than I already do in the areas of 'exposure', and, I have quite a lot of facial hair that totally blows the look. (Its especially a bummer because I love lipstick, and you just can't see it through all that!)

** I considered making up some kind of "All the old family photos had heads cut off so I thought that is the way it is supposed to be" but I thought better of it!
