Of course I would love to have them pierced but I can't because I'm pushing the edge of the envelope now with my hair and brows. None of the men in my Sunday school class have pierced ears. And only one guy in church is pierced and that is just one ear. He is a macho, body builder type.
Earrings for me would be the last straw in my world. But I have many pretty sets of clip-ons. If I was younger it would be different.

I think it's only a matter of time before I get mine peirced... But I do have to think through this all, as you have all discussed. Why lose out wearing all those gorgeous dangling earrings!!

In this day and age it is not uncommon for guys to have both ears peirced. I go out as a guy with earings in both ears.

I had my ears pierced back in the 80's when George Michaels was popular. I had a few comments back then when most guys only had one ear pierced. Now a days the comments I get are from women complementing me on my earrings (loops).

Know where else you can see those "macho, body builder" types?

In the S&M clubs, wearing collars and being led about on a leash by some petite little dominatrix.

I think what I'm trying to say is that the harder you try to hide your private life in public, the more obvious it gets. And what you know someone as in public isn't necessarily what they really are. Everyone has secrets.

Only when you are comfortable with yourself will others be comfortable around you. And if you want something really bad, such as pierced ears, and you don't feel you can do it where you are, go somewhere else. But why be miserable for the sake of keeping up appearances that no one gives a damn about anyway? I couldn't be myself in the church of my youth, so I left it.

because every time you look in the mirror, or just catch a glimpse of them on your ears, you'll squeal with joy. just knowing that they're there puts a little bit of a hop in my step.

Claire's has spring loaded earrings that make it look just like you have pierced ears.
Thats what I use and several GG's have commented oh I didn't know they made those?I love them.

Well, I just got off the phone with one of the APP piercers in my area, and got some good information. The process shouldn't take more than half an hour start-to-finish, and it probably won't cost me more than $60. Now I just need to find a time when I can get out there...

For comparison: I used a APP piercer and it cost me $CDN 20 per ear (plus taxes) including the hoop. The piercing itself really did not take long... maybe 7 minutes leisurely. The rest of the time was just in doing the paperwork and getting settled and making sure they knew what I wanted, and having the piercer mark my ear lobes and have me check them in the mirror. Oh, and of course paying afterwards.

Note: you might be asked to bring photo ID. When I called I was told to bring some -- but when I got there they didn't ask to look at it. (Guess it was a standard request and then if you look old enough they don't bother.)

Hi, Who hasn't had an ear or two pierced....everybody does it, company Co's, politicians, teachers, lawyers, and on and on. Anybody who questions a piercing has difficulties with their own idenity! These days!
