I'm the oldest of three boys. Interesting, Perhaps the mods can open up just one poll to get statistics of the participants.

Youngest and only Cder of two boys although I do have a photo of my dad dressed up as a girl for a fancy dress party back in the 50s.Intriguing.Dont think there's any real connection though because I began dressing as a 4 yo before seeing this photo.

Hi, I too am the eldest of five (me, girl, boy, girl, boy) As far as I know I'm the only CD'er of the bunch, have been since very young.

Be interesting to see what % of membership fall into this category.

    Take care all

I hope it's not to late to jump into this thread. I am the oldest of two boys, and left handed to boot.

It may also be interesting to note that the vast majority of military pilots are first born males.

Well, I'm the middle child, and the youngest male, and I'm the crossdresser, so I'm not too sure that there is any pattern. I think it's just the way we're wired. But anyway, who cares, since I love being a crossdresser!

I am number five in our family of eight children. My parents had four boys and then stopped for four years. Then they tried for a sister but had me instead. They didn't know how close they came to having a girl.
Two years later they had my little sister. Four years later they tried for another girl but had a boy. Then two years later that tried for the last time but had my baby brother. So out of eight children they had only one girl, and one girl wannabe, me. I'm pretty sure that I am the only transgender child in the bunch. Our life was much like the Walton's on TV. I wonder about those boys. Leanne

I'm the 3rd oldest boy of the family. Only my sister is younger than me. My second oldest brother died of Luekimia when I was too young to know I had another brother, so I'll never know if he would have turned out to be a CD aswell.

Youngest of three here, though I'm the only boy.
For years I hoped I was just a CDer but now I realize I am transgender and that's alright.

I had almost the same situation as you, except that I am the oldest and my father was a crossdresser. I to started to dress at around 8 before I knew he was a cd.
I use to accidentialy see him in panties and shaving his legs. Later on I found out when I was playing in the attic and found part of his stash.

I do feel that cross dressing and transgender is somehow at least in part inherited

BIRTH ORDER : I organized an interesting poll in this forum

I organized in the past a poll about birth order in the thread quoted below.

You can see my interpetations in the thread, and for instance in the #93 post in it.

    http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/...t=82380&page=4

I revisited such polls about birth order, a few weeks ago, and I led a comprehensive thread about it.
The discussions and conclusions are issued on my Flickr's group (700 members) : "Knowing about crossdressing : interpretations - facts - results"

    http://www.flickr.com/groups/knowing-about_cding/

    To make it short.
. Obviously "an only child" and "a first born" have not the same meaning.

. There exists a definite trend. However it is a slight trend.

. When comparing first born to last born in a family or 2 or more than 2 childs the ratio is 60% first born vs. 40% last born. The difference is small, yet statistically significant. Such results are repeatable by further polls.

. I showed why this result is of theoretical importance.

For serious discussing about such a subject - and other ones - I invite you to come and see what we are currently publishing in our group.
