Well I immediately assumed she was in the US, given all the horror stories you read on this forum about how difficult it is to go out dressed in some states. But alas, I think Elle is Australian (East Coast maybe). It certainly would not happen here in the UK given the fact that the police here take hate crimes quite seriously.
