It would seem that safest career in the cding profession would be a clerk at a cd/Tg shop. Check out janetscloset. Better yet probably open one of your own and I'll work for you.

Something else I've noticed about this thread in particular is the fact that people that I've never seen post before are speaking up. That's so great. Sometimes I think that there are only a few people here that actually participate in discussions and I very happy that everyone's involved in this. Kudos to everyone.

Well Briana90802, congratulations to posting a topic that is receiving so many interesting replies and thought provoking in reading. Isn't it amazing to see how we all have a common interest and if we sit back and look past the crossdressing issue, we all are artistic and create despite our varied careers. Topics like this help us to understand who we are and maybe why we do crossdress, thank you for a very good topic, so simple yet complex.

    Software Engineer.

My comment on the thread would be that we see what we are looking for. For an artist, the arty replies grab your attention and seem to dominate, for the technical the technical jobs grab your attention and seem to be more common. Also, to some degree it's a leading question, so jobs that are not particularly arty are bent towards artiness, or the primary day job is dismissed quickly and a list of hobbies added to fit the profile.

Interesting question though, and for me the summary seems to be - it takes all sorts.

    Susie.

Briana90802, I don't think it means that all cd's are artistic, although I've spent a lifetime as a musician. A lot I've noticed are engineers.

I only saw one other lawyer. I have a general practice so I do a little bit of everything. I'm doing more estate work and criminal defense than anything else...my art is surfing-dancing with Mother Ocean.

Electrical engineer by degree, but I mostly do software and digital hardware engineering. I guess I consider myself more artistic than average engineers; I have some sense of style and color.

    I'm new to this Forum.
In my opinion, as a retired 75 year old, in looking at people's job situation, one should also consider the age group and the job opportunities available when the individuals were choosing (or being given) a job.
To me it appears that most CD's have selected (when they were allowed to select) a job which allowed some self-expression and advancement to the fullest of their ability.
I'm of course retired - for many years - but I began with a BSc and went into the construction industry, then took a Diploma in Management, and later took a Diploma in Education and became a lecturer.
All this indicates is a deep curiosity and need to know - which many CD's exhibit and which I think is the common thread.
    I'm open to your comments!

No my dear, you are not all alone :D. I would have posted earlier but I am involved in a very big account right now and have not had the time to post much lately. I own an Architectural Design and Construction company.
As for art I am a woodturner doing mostly segmented turning, hollow forms, bowls and platters.
