I never tried to get caught but I didn't really try to hide it either when I was younger. I used to wear my sister's dresses when we played dolls and I used to wrap scarves, towels and doilies around me and pretend I was a girl. At first, everyone seemed to think it was cute but at some point they decided I needed to learn how to act like a boy. They would make me go down the road to play with the other boys who would beat me up and send me back home bruised and crying. At some point, around 8yo, I realized I needed to suppress the girliness. I remember Woody's and Hecht's also as I grew up in PG County.
