When I finally stopped trying to be the man I was expected to be, the macho man, and accept myself for who I am, I found my inner peace.

Hi Annaliese, nice to hear from you again. Thank you for your warm and kind reply.
You can't fully love others until you truly love yourself. It is a wonderful journey

The past is history, the future is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present!

Tiffany, I could not agree with you more. I, too, am finding that I am coming to terms with the peace I feel being able to be me and not be the person others want me to be. This will not happen overnight, but it is indeed happening and I am finding that at my present age I am reflecting on the past and am determined to enjoy the remaining 50 or so years as 'me'. What is important to me now is the inner peace I feel.
All the best,
Di
Hi Diversity,
Thanks for your lovely and wonderful response. Wishing you the very best on your beautiful journey of self acceptance, the most important key in my opinion.
